Fire Mike "Can't win a trap game" Tomlin while you're at it
fucking assholes, the entire coaching staff is to blame for this disgrace of a season.
Re: Fire Mike "Can't win a trap game" Tomlin while you're at it
They're ALL trap games, I guess. No matter who we play it's close & the defense collapses in the 4th Q.

thing that bothers me about tomlin since the beginning is he can't get the team ready to play against another team we're SUPPOSED to beat.
looking back to his first season, i remember over half the losses being against teams that should have been an easy win.
2nd season, we have the most difficult schedule in the NFL and the team rises to the occasion, we win the sb.
3rd season, we play great against contenders..
- won against titans (early in the season expected to be a contender), SD, Denver, vikings
but lose to teams we're 'supposed to win' against
- 1st loss vs cincy a 'lucky' team, 2nd loss to cincy we were expected to roll them because we had a home game this time, and their 1st win coulda been considered lucky. hey, they're the bungles, easy win right? Besides, just coming off a dominant win at denver, it's time to just relax cause the bungles will always be the bungles! Surely they'll just roll over and die for us.. lol
- losses to teams that are in the bottom 10 of the NFL (bears, chiefs, raiders)
The loss vs the ravens well, not a trap game but they seem to have our number when playing in baltimore. Still didn't stop the defense from shitting the bed, though.

Here's what pisses me off......
1st and goal on the 10 or so, down by 3 with 2 min left. First play is a pass?? Yes, it was a TD, but you left too much time on the clock. Is this Tomlin, Arians or Ben that made this call? I might agree with it if our D showed life, but all they showed was they were worthless meatsacks.

Tell me, did he accept full responsibility?

I certainly hope so, because it is what it is.
I don't think we can beat the Browns.

Re: Fire Mike "Can't win a trap game" Tomlin while you're at it
2 minutes left and I'm screaming at my computer watching game being streamed.
I am SCREAMING, "RUN THE BALL, FALL DOWN IF YOU'RE GOING IN, RUN THE freaking thing, BECAUSE TOO MUCH TIME LEFT". What do we do??? We &^%$* score.
Kickoffs are an adventure, 2 minutes is eternity and we ALWAYS, ALWAYS make "nobody QB's" look like the 2nd coming of Joe Montana. This guy went to Toledo, for crying out loud. But I give him credit, he "DIDN'T BLINK, BUT HE DID UNLEASH HELL".
This defense cannot stop a broken clock. Ike - I'm done with him. Clark? Was he in the stadium at all?
4th and 1-foot against the worst run-D or one of the worst, and we do a sneak and don't get it? They do 4th and 3 converts all damn day because Mr. D-Genius has LB's 6 yds off the line.
GUTLESS, GUTLESS. Give Hard hats to Mendy and Ward and Holmes. Miller gets 1 pass? Play for the draft now.

Fire Tomlin and his entire staff which sends the message we will not tolerate the poor job he has done this season. Let's face it Camp Cupcake was a complete failure. There is no leader at the helm of the ship

Nice post.
I agree 100%.
How many of us would be looking for a job if we performed as piss-poor as these guys have performed.
All dead former Steelers must be turning over in their graves!

How about if...
Ben doesn't throw yet ANOTHER pick in the EZ
OR
Burnett makes the easy pick in the 4th
None of you would be crying right now.
Once again the players were put in a position to succeed, but failed on execution.
I can give you example after example of players making plays last year:
The strip/sack-TD on MNF against BAL
Polamalu's pick against SD
Holmes' TD in the 2nd game against BAL
Townsend's INT for a TD against DAL
Holmes' PR for a TD in the playoff game against SD
The INT in the 3rd quarter of the playoff game against SD
Polamalu's INT for a TD in the AFCC game
Holmes' catch to win the SB
Harrison's INT for a TD in the SB
Without any single one of these plays, the Steelers could very well have gone on to lose any of these games, thus dramatically changing the outcome of the season.
I'm sure there are tons of other examples, those are just off the top of my head. We have the same coaching staff from last year (when we won the Super Bowl). To be honest with you, I think a lot of the people on this site bitch about 'game planning' and 'scheming' because they want to sound like they know what they're talking about, but really have no clue. I bet these same people couldn't explain the difference between a Mike, Sam, and Will linebacker if the test was multiple choice.
I don't agree with all of the decisions they make, but the bottom line is that the coaching staff has put the players in positions to be successful, and the players have failed to execute. This is evidenced by the fact that the TOTAL margin of defeat for all of our losses is *21* points. If the game plans and schemes are so bad, how is it that our greatest margin of defeat is ONE SCORE?
We're in all of these games. The players aren't making plays.

anyone that starts a thread about firing the head coach knows nothing about the ownership of the Steelers.

actually i'd still be pissed off, it's the fucking RAIDERS who flew across the country to play in our house. there's no reason why we shouldn't have won by 28 points or more, unless we just flat out sucked. if we needed last second heroics to beat the lowly raiders, this team has problems, period.
sure, last season we've had some last second heroics to win the playoff / super bowl games, but those were against quality teams. we're talking about the fucking raiders here.

we should have won by 28 points? vegas started at 14. thats double what vegas had. and vegas is trained to pick that down to the millimeter. So im calling b.s. on SHOULD HAVE won by 28.

Did I expect the Steelers to win? Yes. But the bottom line is that even the Raiders are an NFL team. At this level of competition, you cannot leave plays on the table.

As technology grows, time gets compressed, i guess.
Stillers.com didn't start until 1999- didn't start calling for Cowher's head until he had been HC for 7 years.
But now, after 2+ years, we've got people calling for Tomlin's head already.
LOL!!!
You stupid reactionary FUCKS!!!
Do you even have a GLIMMER of comprehension as to how stupid you are for starting a thread like this?
Probably not...else you wouldn't be so stupid.
Can't imagine why none of you aren't running your own NFL franchise right now...with genius like this!!

They would prefer the Alzheimer Davis merry go round of head coaches in Oakland.
They get a new head coach every other year. Hows that been working out I wonder?
BTW for those wanting shanahan.....he was FIRED from his last gig as H.C.
for not getting the job done and not getting them over the hump for a decade.
now hes even older and slower.....
PASS.

After the superbowl win, in my book Tomlin gets five seasons without me calling for his head. I am pissed off at how everything has unravelled when he managed to get the nastiest steeler team in decades out of a crew with an aging D-line, a sorry O-line, and no backfield last season. He's got four years left before he should be facing termination in my view.

Re: Fire Mike "Can't win a trap game" Tomlin while you're at it
I would have to agree. Our success over the past 40 years has been largely predicated on the fact that we have had stability at the HC position. I am not willing to change that anytime soon! However, there is absolutely no denying that Arians needs to go!! The minute we start having knee-jerk reactions to short term setbacks, we will be the East-coast Raiders!

Once again....
The Stillers offense is ranked:
9th overall
9th in yards per game
6th in yards per play
8th in passing yards per game
15th in rushing yards per game
(those stats are prior to this last weekend, but are probably still pretty much the same)
Those stats also don't factor in things like Sweed dropping touchdown pass (first CIN game), a ball that hits Miller in the hands and is intercepted (KC game, I believe), a CB baiting Ben into a pass and jumping the route leading to INT returned for TD (first CIN game, I believe), Ben throwing to covered receiver near midfield leading to batted ball and INT (2nd CIN game), Ben INTs in the RZ/EZ (multiple games), etc....
The most major beef I have is the redzone playcalling. But when Ben's throwing picks in the EZ, I'm not going to start calling for the OC's head.

What is your point about the above rankings? These are way below par given the amount of experience and talent that currently fills this roster, especially when you consider the number of absolutely putrid teams in the league this year. Also, it's not all about the stats either, it's about the number of times we knowledgeable fans shake our heads at the unbelievable piss-poor play calling. Please explain to me the following...
1. 1st and goal at the 4yd line and going empty backfield? Why would you ever go empty backfield in early downs; let alone 1st and goal?
2. The utter disappearance of MM catching passes out of the backfield?
3. The mystery that is Matt Spaeth?
4. Abandoning the no-huddle the last 4 games with the exception of absolute necessity at the end of games/halfs.
5. Ditching the running game when averaging more than 5 yds per carry? (not necessarily last game)
6. The lack of draws, screens, misdirections, etc.?
7. Keeping Dixon, the most fleet of foot QB (albeit back-up), in the pocket the entire game even after proving it was incredibly effective for 3 plays (though one was called back). For that matter, Ben is one of the best QB's throwing on the run, so where are the designed rollout plays?
I could go on and on...
M1K3 - I usually agree with your perspectives, but you are out to lunch on this one buddy and you would be hard pressed to find anyone else who disagrees with me!
ARIANS MUST GO!!!
