Playoff time!

Postby blackngoldB » Tue Dec 08, 2009 4:57 pm

I've been a member of this board for years. During the 05 season people here were trashing the steelers for their season at the halfway point. Just don't forget that they pulled it together, barely made the playoffs and brought home #5. We have a lot of the core players we had then. I will not give up hope until they are mathematically out of it. Sometimes teams need a wakeup call. We could practically be 11-1 right now if it wasn't for a few mistakes. ANYTHING can happen.

Our success for the remainder of the season is 100% contingent on Troy's health. I'm not sure we can even beat Cleveland without him! After that, I'm with you.

I completely agree. I am not exactly sure starting TWO rookie corners w/o Polamalu in the lineup is a great idea. Though the hit on Gay was about the loudest I cheered during the whole Raiders game :P.

Also, we are all Colts fans for the next two weeks (vs. Jags and Broncos). We will be smashed by Green Bay w/o Polamalu and I am nervous about our chances even with him. I still have faith though :suxfingers:

Uhh...you might want to put down the crack pipe.....I don't this team will finish any better than 8-8, let alone make the playoffs.

Have you been watching the same team I have. Shit is not getting better --- if anything, it's getting WORSE. Any time you let a player named Grabass for QB and a bunch of numbnut no name WR run all over you, you are in trouble.

I don't disagree, however I will continue to hold my crack pipe until atleast after the Browns game. Even though Jim Wexell, Steelers Insider, just blogged that William Gay WILL FUCKING START AFTER ALL!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?

I'll never give up on my Stillers...but I'm also a realist. I expect them to struggle - including Thurs. night. This team needs to prove to their fan base...that they really give a $hit about the remainder of this season

disagree...the lowly ravens pulled to within 3 pts of the cheeseheads right after halftime. AT GREENBAY. with shitty receivers. greenbay is NOT a good team right now due to injuries on D. and aaron rodgers pulls a TON of bonehead bombs all game....he is reckless with the ball in a huge way. and greenbay is horrible right now with penalties....partly due to defense licking ballhairs

Will they even try to bring Troy back at this point? If he's not ready for GB and they lose, I'm guessing they don't bring him back.

wow, the king is half undressed. quote me on this. "we WON'T make the playoffs" and on top of that we will screww up our draft position by winning meaningless games under the auspices of "finishing strong"... BS! lose out and get a good draft pick. start rookies and give them valuable game time and we will be the better for it come next year. THIS YEAR IS LOST, DO WHAT'S BEST FOR THE TEAM! flame away suckas....

Stop embarrasing yourself ! You shouldnt be 9-3. You are what you are. Which is a VERY BAD football team !! 6-7 and you lose to horrible teams. This lesson was free son !

Damn it!!!!! I just can't stop. I picked up the crack pipe again. I need an intervention, but until then.....Here we Go Steelers, Here we Go!!!!!! :subngtowl: :subngtowl: :subngtowl: :subngtowl: :subngtowl:

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem the worst that you must not quit.

Please see my previous post, reposted below.
There are some in here that would tell you to keep him on the bench, and even others saying to sit the other starters to save from injuries and to look forward to next years draft.

One only has to look at Carolina defeating the Vikings to see that every game is important, even if we were 3-12, I'd rather see us fight like hell to get to 4-12 and save face. When anyone looks back on this organization years from now, they don't think of "well, they were playing for next years' draft that year and saving personel from injury". Not our organization, our organization plays football to win, always....ALWAYS.

The Steelers rarely have any losing seasons, the least in NFL history since the merger. In fact, the Steelers (including the '70 and '71 losing seasons) have had only 9 losing seasons in 40 years. No one else claims this excellence. This among the many other winning records, winning %, SB's playoffs is why we are the Steelers and second to none. You fucking pos(t)ers who think it's smart to lose and rebuild for next year don't know the Steelers.

The '05 team played the remainder of the season with heart. Something this team doesn't know how to do, atleast our defense. If you weren't watching yesterday, we took a 10pt lead into the 4th quarter and if our offense doesn't pick up a few lucky penalties, we would be 6-8 right now. For Christ's sake, our coach had to attempt an onsides kick to secure the win. The reasoning? If we are giving up points (which even he knew we were), let's give them a short field so they can do it quickly and give our offense a chance to win it. This is NOT a good team. They are not bringing #7 home this year. Not until we fix the glaring issues such as an offensive coach who immediately removes any play that gains positive yards from his playbook, a special teams coach who puts the worst players on the field, and a defensive coach who might not even be alive (anyone check his pulse lately?). Take the win for what it is and start looking for next year. The playoffs and SB aren't in the cards for us this year.

Troy is coming back this week...

Postby JumboHeadYouks » Tue Dec 22, 2009 8:46 am

or the Steelers will lose and their season is over. I know this team sooo well and they cannot beat the Ravens, given how the Ravens are playing right now, unless Polamalu is their to blow up screens and stop the run. Carter is fucking lost out there and Calrk is a risky-prop as he either knocks someone head off or gets roasted. Troy is the X Factor.. the guy teams cannot block. Had he been there in Baltimore...the big play of the game "screen to Rice" would have been blown up..the Ravens and their coaches know they cannot block him.. The only guy on the team who could fill his role in this way is Timmons and he is too stupid at this point to be counted on to be in the right spot... Troy plays or our season is over...it is really that simple.

Should we win and beat Miami.. NE is the most likely 1st round opp... I am not scared of them in the least....with Troy of course.
