The amazing thing about Oakland's last drive is they went 88 yards and never had to spike a ball and never needed to use the 1 timeout they had.Pathetic!

How do you give Arians a B-?, I thought it much lower. And as much as Cowher frustrated the hell out of me, what was his record when going into the 4th quarter with a lead?

I'm glad that I worked throughtout the game and did not follow via the internet when I had the opportunity.
Watching the highlights this evening is the very reason I cannot watch this team. No balls/determination and coaching/decision making is disgraceful!

I agree, how can you give Arians a B-? This guy was pathetic, the offense slopped and slathered in the first half. Three trips inside the redzone amounting to 3 points. Arians gets an F in my book.

What's really sad, is this goes far deeper than this season. IF Arians is fired (as he should be) & IF Dickie retires (as he should) the Stillers will have at least 2 rebuilding seasons. It is obvious that they need to recruit some defensive players & special teams needs to be gutted. Unfortunately, A-Hole Arians will be back next year & Dullard Dickie probably won't retire. Tomlin has shown that his words are hollow. I can't believe how the team showed NO urgency once again (4 weeks in a row now).
"G*d dammit Arians! You are an ASS!!!"

I'll be attending the high school PA Western Regional finals this weekend. You see, there, I'll get to see some tears and some boys/MEN who actually give a fuk about their game.
Hey Mill, thanks again; At least you make me laugh.

After watching the Cardinals beat down the Vikings, I couldn't help but wonder why in the hell we didn't keep B. McFadden. He is clearly better than any CB we have. We could have Fox playing for Farrior and McFadden instead of Gay.
In my opinion, this was the first in a series of very poor decisions the Steelers have made over the last year which now finds them under-achieving with a 6-6 record.
Pathetic.

Re: New Article: Stillers-Raiders Postgame Analysis and Grades
The errors are so glaring - the secondary is now winning the race for the bottom with the kickoff return team - that there isn't much else to say. The injuries to Smith and Polamalu have highlighted the very average talents of the rest of the defensive line and the secondary, and the linebackers haven't stepped up to fill the void. Whether it's the coaching or the execution or the talent doesn't really matter; does anyone think that even if the Steelers made the playoffs (technically quite possible) they could stop P. Manning or any other QB for that matter in the mediocre AFC?
Finally, I get the Wannstedt comparison, but it's insulting - to Wannstedt. He's a dim bulb but his team is playing in the post-season and lost the last two games to quality teams - not the dregs of the AFC West.

yet another great article by Mill and all comments ring true. I agree with everyone here that Arians game plan in the first half was haughty and obstinate and resulted in shit until we woke up in the 2nd half. Let it be known that Still Mill is NOT enslaved to his own dogma as many would believe
I too watched the Cardianls game - but with more of an eye towards Whis and Grimm. The Rooneys told those two quality men to go pound salt and now that wisdom appears to be flawed. I think the Obamafication of Dan Rooney heralded our demise
We cannot draft our way into fixing the defensive secondary unless we are prepared to wait another 2 years for results. NFL CB & Safety is a FN hard transition from college. Remember Troys first year? This means that Stiillers will need to find someone GOOD in the FA

Arians was pathetic - how is it that when Ben is making the calls the offense glides down the field in no time, but when this asshole is calling the plays nothing happens? Defense speaks for itself, the worst I've seen in years. 1-6 without Pola and they really miss A Smith, who few are talking about. We need DBs and we need them tomorrow. This crew makes Hank "I just got beat" Poteat and Dwayne "Toast" Washington look like world beaters. All three of these useless coordinators should have come back to their offices after the game to find the locks changed and their shit in a cardboard box.

Last year when McFadden and Washington were FAs, I felt like keeping McFadden should have the top priority. Yeah, he made mistakes, but he seemed like he also made game changing plays (catching INTs). I really hope Lewis and/or Burnett have the skills to supplant Gay next year.

You are kidding me about Burnett right?
Re: New Article: Stillers-Raiders Postgame Analysis and Grades
Is it asking too much for just ONE DB to actually catch a ball? These guys are out there with club-hands apparantly???? Somebody buy these poor guys some fingers so they can imporsonate an NFL defensive back more convincingly.
Re: New Article: Stillers-Raiders Postgame Analysis and Grades
I thought it was a bad call said the human battering ram, MUndy on his personnel foul. He would have got called twice for it except the first time he lowered his head and yelled rammin speed he knocked out his own guy! And we find out this is the way the idiot tackles now? The Stooge defense hit new highs today. So whats the draft prospects for def backs? One criteria we must add to the selection process is can they catch a lob pass of 20 yds or so with no one around them and do they keep there eyes open? Maybe 3 out of 5, since if we went for 5 out 5 we probably cant field the secondary? Since its Thurs nite I'll watch the game, boy I must like pain? Sundays I'll think I'll tape it and play the major poker tourneys

Mill,
Other than the B- for Shithead Arians, another solid effort.
Here's a headline for you we won't see in the ass-kissing press:
"Steelers unleash hell... on playoff hopes!"
Here's a grade for you:
Tomlin on his first real coaching crisis: F!

Re: New Article: Stillers-Raiders Postgame Analysis and Grades
Agree with everything except the grade on Sweed.
That was overly-harsh.
First of all, the ball hit a DB's hands first, and was deflected. Sweed never really got his hands on it, and it would have been difficult for him to have done so.
Secondly, even after all the other WRs have fucked up more times than Sweed did, the coaches still make his ass ride the pine for nine weeks. Then, they finally put him in...on a Hail Mary "OK, son, here's your chance. Clean up this clusterfuck for us" play?!?!?!?
And you, Mill, are going to give Sweed an "F" for THAT?!?!?!?!?

Re: New Article: Stillers-Raiders Postgame Analysis and Grades
How can you possibly grade OC as B-? That is so out of whack I can't even imagine. In the face of all the red zone failures, 10 points for 3 quarters, not using runiing backs or tight end in the passing game, lack of no huddle, no misdirection, etc. Is there a little biased reporting at Stillers.com?

DITTO:
and his in-game strategy continues to be stone-stupid,...Consider the 53-yard FG try, to the OPEN end of the stadium, in the 4Q.
The 4 and 1 w/ QB-sneak???
W/ 8 minutes left in regulation, the D had held OAK to 6 points,...and they still had to sweat out the game?!???
Redzone offense in 1st half: ridiculous.
This game should have been over at half-time.
