I was just listening to Stan & Guy on ESPN 1250 (here's the link for other out-of-townerslike me: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/pla ... pittsburgh) and Stan was right on, pointing out the failings of Arians in not getting Dixon out on the edge via roll outs, bootlegs, sprint outs, etc. and also, and I think this is very important for the entire Steeler community to come to terms with, the shoddy play of Farrior, specifically in pass coverage. It's nice that the local 'Burgh media is starting to admit the shortcomings of the '09 Steelers, now if only the national media would stop hyping Arians and our defense which is only a shell of it's former self without Polamalu (and A. Smith) and with a nearly useless James Farrior.
As for the Bungles... living in the greater Cincy area gives me more than enough info, data, analysis on the Bungles. Hell, I had to sit through that horrible "Battle of Ohio" game yesterday in which the Clowns were completely unable to mount any offense for 95% of the game resulting in a boring, sloppy Bungles victory, 16-7. The local radio goofs, Bob Trumpy and Dave Lapham were honest, however, in assessing the Bengals plodding, low point production offense. They said, after the Raiders loss, that the Bungles appeared to be "playing in a phone booth". They correctly stated that the Bengals sorely miss a real pass-catching TE to attack the middle of the field and that Chad Loco-Stinko in his 9th (?) season no longer has the speed to stretch the field. They summarized by correctly stating that the Bungles have no room for error, unlike teams like the Patriots or Colts who can put up a couple of touchdowns in no time with their passing attacks that can eat up large chuncks of yardage in a very short time. I think that the locals who refuse to drink the orange kool-aid know that their chances of winning the last game of the season (the Super Bowl, duh) are slim and also, though they are reluctant to admit it, they DO NOT want the Steelers to come to PBS in the playoffs as it was obvious the Steelers gave away the regular season game out here and typically out-play the Bengals at PBS in comparison with games played at Heinz.

Ah SteelerBrian, is this all you have left? Now that the Steelers playoff hopes are on life support you are gonna comfort yourself by saying the Bengals just don't have what it takes to win it all. Chad doesn't have the speed anymore? You are sadly mistaken on that. He is averaging nearly 15 yards per catch and teams are still playing him with a safety over the top. I guess you missed him run by two guys yesterday on that touchdown catch. The offense does look a bit sloppy at times, their is no doubt about that. That said, I will take this team with the #1 scoring defense in the NFL, one of the top rushing games in the league with three different 100 yard rushers(Bernard Scott, Larry Johnson, & Cedric Benson) in the last three weeks over the team that had all that offensive firepower in 2005. I'll keep taking those sloppy, ugly (insert whatever adjective that makes you feel better) wins any day. People can say the Bengals pose no threat and thats fine but the truth is they should be 11-1. That fluke-ass catch week one against Denver and that bullshit Oakland loss where we were inside the twenty up seven with 5 minutes left, all we need is a fg and fatass Jeremi Johnson fumbles the ball. The Raiders then drive the whole way down converting a couple 4th downs for a touchdown followed up with a fumble by our kick returner on the ensuing kickoff to get beat 20-17 in a game we lead or were tied all but 10 seconds. Oh and I loved the "We are gonna unleash hell" speech.

If the Steelers slop their way into the playoffs, we will certainly lose to a quality team - but I will tell you one thing. If we happen to get paired up with the Bungals, it will spell the end of the year for Cincinatti.

Bengal fans should be called 'Billy Batsons' because they walk around anonymously for years but when their team somehow strings a winning season together suddenly it's SHAZAM! and they all become Who Dey versions of Captain Marvel, loudmouthing it wherever and whenever they think someone cares - even on the board of a divisional rival team!

Funny but this board or its predecessor has been open for years but somehow no Bengal fans (read: Northern Kentuckians) could find the energy to register or post until now.

Having a James Brooks-inspired screen name is somewhat appropriate however, considering Brooks was a jumped-up little prick in an era when there weren't many jumped-up little pricks since there were no trained seals on ESPN applauding their every anti-social tendency. Very telling.
