It's about time you gave an "F" to Bruce Arians........ The king of "Try whatever fails and hope for a different result."

I'd give an "F" to the special teams for the season. Even Sepulveda's play is regressing.
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

I think it all boils down to the post game after last weeks unforgivable loss to the Bungles...The Steelers were giving up the season and handing the AFC North Crown to them...With 7 games left !!!

IF the Stillers would of won today, they would be neck and neck with Cincy, but Noooooooooooo, they had to blow an easy game against an easy opponent.

With Arians terrible play calling and lackluster play by supposed "pro-bowlers", I smell an 8-8 season in the wings....

Just wretched. This time Tomlin gets the finger. The Steelers have been plagued this season by three recurring flaws: abysmal kickoff return coverage; poor playcalling on offense that has led to unnecessary turnovers; and defensive lapses late in the game. What all three flaws have in common is a failure to adjust - and responsibility for that belongs to the head coach. I still think a wildcard spot in the playoffs is more likely than not but I am not optimistic about fixing all of the obvious breakdowns by then. On paper, with Polamalu healthy, this team should be better than last year's; but they aren't making the adjustments or effort necessary to play that way.

O-line a B-? The same o-line that continually let a garbage front 7 put pressure on our QB all day and committed quite a few false starts and holds?

Been lurking here for years. Felt I needed to vent a little.
A few observations:
1) What do you think Tomlin tells that team at halftime? OK men, We got a 7 point lead its ok to let up now.
2) Does anyone recall ever seeing big ben slide feet first on a scramble? Why not throw the ball away. Do you think ben getting hurt is his own fault?
3)Why does ben look like a rookie a lot of times this season?
4)Is the team slacking off because they won the SB last year and isn't hungry? Who's fault is that, Tomlin's?
5)What changed from last year? Why are they losing to scrub teams? The talent is basically the same. Must be the motivation factor or lack there of. Points to Tomlin. Maybe rooney should tell
him to take off the sun glasses and don't worry about looking cool. This team needs a fire lit under their fucking asses!
End of rant. thanks
The Steelers will only be as successful as Big Ben is!

Just to point out a commonality... The backward slide of 2007 also began with the loss of Aaron Smith for the season.
This does NOT excuse the continuing clusterf*ck on Special Teams (which for us is more like Special Ed Teams). Nor does it explain the bewildering OC play calling. If they can't stop your running game, use it like a club and beat them to death with it. The Titans went 0-6 before they figured this one out.

Is it unbecoming of a fan to say that the only good aspect of a wretched loss is the blistering review by Mill the next day?

It can't have escaped the notice of Mill and others here that Gerry Dulac does a report card in the PG (I believe it began last season). Imitation the sincerest form of flattery etc.

At the risk of repeating myself I was dumbstruck by the futility and lack of effort by the secondary in tackling. They made Deion Sanders look like Lambert, Nobis, Nitschke and Butkus. Granted they may have grown tired of offensive players getting through the DL and LBs but when you are the last resort bumping them with a shoulder isn't going to get it done.

ST was not addressed and these 2 last KR has cost us two games and it lays right on the head coach. The players do not look like they are ready to play and that also falls on the coach time to call him out .

Ultimately, Tomlin is to blame for the lackluster, ballsucking performances of late. He has not stepped up and done a damn thing about the ST play. He need not get rid of players, he needs to get rid of the ST coach, he should have been fired already. And, it is Tomlin that let the dumbfuck Arians run a sweep with Moore on 3rd and 2. Tomlin can overturn this call if he wants, but just stood idily by and let Bruce fuck up another game for us. When will Arians be fired? This is pathetic, grow some balls Mike!!!!!!!!!

Blows my mind how Arians still has a job. There comes a point each year where his ass-headed playcalling in crucial situations makes me question if the Steelers management is seeing something I'm not. First reference that always comes to mind is the Jacksonville playoff game a couple years ago. It's painful to sit and watch while this idiot consistently goes 5-wide and leaves an empty backfield with no threat of a run whatsoever. 1st and goal, Mendenhall has had a couple nice gains... is it me or would you want to at least make the defense think that you MIGHT run the ball. Reminder... this is the Chiefs. OT... Mendenhall is gaining 7+ yards per carry... perfect time to abandon the run, pass on 1st down and run a damn pitch play when you need 2 YARDS. It's like they were intimidated by the Chiefs defense.

If losing every game the rest of this season means Arians getting the boot... it might be worth it.

Yeah - Dick Lebeau cannot cover a receiver for shit - why do they let him on the field. He can't seem to break the block of the tackles either when he blitzes. I would agree in blaming him for our steelers defensive woes. Maybe when Troy comes back he will take Lebeau's place.

StillMill,

Good work as always!

I'm just disgusted. This is inexcusable. Year one, most of us (except you), gave Mike Tomlin a freebie, being a new coach and all that. (He did have hideous defeats like to the NYJ and that first round loss to the Jags at home.) Year two, with the exception of a minor slump mid-season (losses to Indy and NYG), the Stillers are relatively injury free and go 12-4 and win the SB. Nothing much to criticize Mike Tomlin for that season (Arians, of course, is a different story and even the "legendary" Dick Lebeau's group showed tendencies that have really been exposed this season towards the end of last season). IMO this is the first real test for the placid Mike Tomlin. His team is beginning to look a lot like him, emotionless, no intensity, never a sense of urgency. As of now we find out if the Stillers have a real coach or just a game manager.

I get what you're sayng, but the problem on the big play in overtime seemed to be not getting the call in to everyone in time. The softy schemes don't seem to help hold leads either.
