Midseason Mock Draft v. 1.0
boredom and anticipation
guessing we will be at the end of the 1st round (hopefully the very end)
rd 1- Myron Lewis FS- Vanderbilt
Height: 6-3. Weight: 202.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
Projected Round (2009): 1-2.
3 interceptions this year playing on a bad defense, but had 5 sacks and 5 INT last year playing in a tough conference. Could be an impact player and an instant starter on the defense. Has the potential to be an elite player and is flying under the radar.
Other possibilities
Major Wright FS Florida, Anthony Davis OT Rutgers, Rolando McClain ILB Alabama
rd 2- Ciron Black OT- LSU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.27.
Projected Round (2010): 2.
Hasn't missed a game as a starter for LSU. Has been rated as a first round prospect, but with the numerous amounts of top rated OTs in the top of this years draft Black could slip and would be a perfect fit witht he Steelers
Other possibilities
Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin, Greg Jones LB Michigan State, Crezdon Butler CB Clemson
rd 3- Toby Gerhart RB/FB- Stanford
Height: 6-1. Weight: 232.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Projected Round (2010): 2-4.
Huge running back could be a short yardage answer for the Steelers, and Willie Parker could be gone leaving a pick for Gerhart. Gerhart actually has a good set of hands and could be used as a backup tight end with his strength. Very athletic, a great football player and a heisman dark horse.
Other possibilities
Jared Odrick DT Penn State, Dan Williams DT Tennessee, Syd'Quan Thompson CB California
rd 4- Eric Olsen C/OG- Notre Dame
Height: 6-4. Weight: 303.
Projected 40 Time: 5.19.
Projected Round (2009): 3-4.
Can move around on the interior, has a nice frame. Pretty athletic, has been a good blocker for a solid running game.
Other possibilities:
Jordan Shipley WR- Texas, Andrew Quarless TE- Penn State, Alterraun Verner CB- UCLA
rd 5- Kurt Coleman CB/S- Ohio State
Height: 5-11. Weight: 190.
Projected 40 Time: 4.43.
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.
A Safety right now but probably a corner in the NFL, very physical and the leader of one of the most complete units in the country right now (Ohio State's defense).
Other possibilities:
Tyson Alualu DE- CAL, Dorin Dickerson FB- Pitt
rd 6- Kai Forbath K- UCLA
He is a junior, but it is such a weak kicker class that he could declare early. I think it might be Reed's last year in a Steelers jersey and Forbath is clearly the best kicker in college football right now
Other possibilities:
Aaron Pettrey K- OSU, Dennis Landolt OT- PSU,
rd 7- Daryll Clark QB- PSU
Height: 6-2. Weight: 231.
Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA
He has a deceptively strong arm and great size. Batch is almost finished and I really don't think Arians trusts Dixon as the main backup to Roethlisberger. I think Clark could be a serviceable NFL QB one day.
Other possibilities:
Ryan Perrilloux QB- Jacksonville St, MiQuale Lewis RB/KR/PR- Ball St, Richie Brockel FB- Boise State
guessing we will be at the end of the 1st round (hopefully the very end)

RB? Hell no. Redman will fill any foid that Parker leaves.
This team needs NT, OL (every position), FS, and kicker.
