Ben's long ball is weak

Postby 1fourdathumb » Sun Nov 15, 2009 6:58 pm

How about one less pump fake and maybe you could lead wallace a bit.

I thought the play calling this week was poor and Max Starks....who are you blocking????

Still love you Ben...a squirl finds a nut every once in a while, we'll see them in the playoffs...on to the next!!!

I agree, almost every long ball to Wallace is underthrown. The pump fake is a good weapon though. He needs to keep it. It pulls defenders away from receivers. The Bengals just played discilined defense today.

i don't think he's used to having a WR with wallace's speed. all his passes to wally is underthrown

Ben played one of his worst games in awhile today. I'm confident that he will make up for it.

I'm just disappointed one of Bens scattershot bullets didn't manage to hit Bruce square in the face! :sushootem:

Did anyone notice the look on Bens face when he was going in for the last series. He did not look confident at all. Not the usual Ben response. Maybe it was me, but when I saw the shot of Ben talking to Arians I knew we were screwed.

Holy crap! I was thinking the EXACT same thing!!!

How many come-backs did we have last year with Ben at the reigns? It's not like he's incapable of doing it! I'm jumping on the FIRE ARIANS bandwagon. :sushootem:

Did anyone else notice that Ben was just not right in that game? I do not know if he was hurt at some point or if he was not feeling well, but he was just not accurate in the game. It has been a long time since he played with so little verve. I know Cincy has a good defense but the problems seemed to stem more from Ben being "off" than Cincy doing anything special.

On other fronts, why do they just unilaterally abandon the run? Those empty backfield sets are primed for a sack. I have just come to expect a bad play everytime we run them. I saw nothing which indiated that Cincy could shut down a consistent running attack.

The whole game was just odd.

if our genius of an o coordinator had any clue what was going on with our QB he would have started running short screens and not completely abandoned the run

in other words make him in to a game manager for this game and not put the weight of the world on his shoulders

Ben over the last 3 games is looking distinctly average, not just stats, something i've noticed myself as well.

He's completed 55 passes from 95 attempts, that's just over 50% in my book and thrown just 4 td's, (this is a pass first offense remember) 1.3 td passes per game, and 2 interceptions, that's an interception for every two td's thrown.

Ben is under the Arians cloud and needs to do something about it . . . . Sunday was depressing to watch.

I'm not so sure Ben is in Arian's pocket, I'm waiting for something, hoping for something to blow up between these two, as this will be the fastest way to out Brucie!!

Somebody, either Ben himself or Bruce, is having Ben stay in the pocket more. Trying to have him become a pocket passer ala Brady/Manning. I don't think Ben will succeed doing that cause he doesn't have the quick release necessary to excel in that style of play. Deja vue all over again in that that's what ruined Korky Kordella.

grant you, that Ben had an off week, but this offense has been underproducing all year. with the talent on this team, they should be putting alot more points up on the board. it all falls on the coaching. BA is nothing more than a Cleveland reject. the team wins in spite of him.
MT also has to be held in question. For this team to come out so uninspired
for a division rival showdown is inexcusable. he has also done NOTHING to improve special teams. he speaks well, but lets back it up!
