Terrible Towels

Postby cully71 » Thu Nov 12, 2009 9:24 am

I'm coming to Pittsburgh to attend the Steelers Bengals Game Saturday. Where can I buy Terrible Towels in town?

Let's see.
All Gas Stations
All grocery stores
All malls
All strip malls
All home improvement stores
All department stores
All Big Box stores
All street vendors
All Strip joints
All Hot dog vendors
But not Walmart.

Ha ha thanks, I've obviously never been out there.
Don't worry, I hate Walmart so I will not be going there.

Haha, this is an awesome topic. I just had to reply.

Indeed, you can pretty much get a terrible towel anywhere, but if you're actually going to be in the city, check out an area next to downtown everyone calls the Strip District. There are a lot of cool shops and restaurants, and you should be able to find about anything related to the Stillers or any specific ethnic group you could possibly want. It'll give you a real flavor of what the 'Burgh is all about.

I hope your plane is landing at night, because it is absolutely incredible to come thru the tunnel and see the spectacle that is downtown pittsburgh. When you enter the tunnel, there isn't even a hint that there is a city there - just rolling hills and scattered businesses. Then, when you come out the other side...BAM! It's fucking incredible. Post back and let us know how your experience went.
Although I now live in So Cal, I always love coming home. Also, you may want to check out the incline up to mount washington. It is an incredible experience and a bitchin' view from up there!

The City is always a site for my sore eyes! It keeps getting better every year. That is probably one of the best entrances to any city on earth, hands down.

Thanks for all the advice, I am driving in from Indiana with my daughter on Saturday and I think we will arrive after dark. I have heard that the once you exit the tunnel the city is incredible. I've been a Stillers fan my whole life and this will be my first game I'm going to in Pittsburgh! I've only seen them live once before at a preseason game in AZ.

The Terrible Towel is a Stiller fan must-have. Something my wife who is an avid, but relatively new Stiller fan learned recently when she suggested replacing my old ratty towel for a shiny new one. The stories that towel could tell.  The kids towels have already seen SB43.
