Yonkos Game Hard Hat ??? So Many Choices

Postby Stillerz Bar » Tue Nov 10, 2009 1:43 pm

Mendy - rushing for 150+ with most in the 2nd half was huge. Also finally being able to close out the game by fedding the rock & eating the clock.

Ty Carter - Steps in for Clark a plays superb!! 2 picks including taking one to the house

Ben - got pissed after the fumble TD and willed the team 80 yards for a TD in 4 plays - NICE!!

Keisel - a Monster disrupter up front

Troy - he was EVERYWHERE and the back to back tackle for a loss / pick was a true Troy showcase

Fox - Another "fill-in" week for him and all he does is lead the team in tackles

Tone, Hines & Wallace - All 3 had solid games and contributed in a big way to this win. Proabably not enough to win a HH this week for any of them but their play certainly warrants mention

LeBeau - His D outscored the DEN offense 7-3

Tomlin - Like it or not, the Steelers simply don't win during the regular season in Denver but last night he had the team focused and ready despite a number of key injuries. This was a very impressive performace for the Black & Gold.

Funny how when the Steelers dominate there are a lot of worthy HH candidates!!

In a game with a lot of skill position contenders, my vote goes for the O-line. Big holes and end seals for Mendy, good protection for Ben, no boner holds and offsides (that I can recall?). Sure the missed block that led to the strip of Ben and the TD, but that's what finally got Ben going!

Overall a high caliber performance from a much-maligned group

Still - you might want to give the HH to our Stillers bretheren who filled that stadium just enough to take away the Denver home field advantage. Denver has traditionally sold out every game for years, and to see that many Stillers fans at a Monday night game against a hot, division leading team was spectacular. Everytime the cameras panned the stadium there was at least an equal amount of black n' gold offsetting the Doncos colors. The coolest thing was the cheer that went out for Heath when he caught a pass. It sounded like Heinz Field - Heathhhhhhhhhh!

Mendenhall would have been an easy choice for me had he not meekly run out of bounds on that last big run. Have to say Keisel or Troy P. Starks should get consideration too. He made elvis his total bitch and that dude is being called Defensive Player of the first Half by many.

Troy P. single handedly stopped the Broncos, and evened out the turnover margin in one defensive series. His big plays led to a two score lead. :sucope:
