WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAA
Did anyone else hear that on the espn pregame just now?
"Super Bowls don't make quarterbacks"
Something to that extent. Does anyone know the exact quote? It was just said on monday night countdown.
I hope someone's got the quote here, because the genius behind that quote?

Yeah, I heard it... these guys make me sick. Just like the LOVE the Bungals right NOW.
Did like the CBS Today skit though with Musburger, Phyliss and Irv Cross.

Well, sweeping the Ravens and having already beating the Steelers once gives them a huge edge on the division, so I can understand a little extra love for them.
But Keyshawn saying they're the 2005 Bengals is retarded.
I also liked PS's angle on Palmer's recent success, which explains that Palmer's play is a direct result of how well Cincy runs the ball. Without a 100 yard rusher, Carson quickly fades into the background.

I loved seeing that old CBS graphic with the poorly rendered running back making that cut. I used to love that and forgot all about it until last night.

Re: WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAA
Steve Young said a number of things last night that got under my skin, mostly his claim that Ben Roethlisberger isn't an elite quarterback.
He said because the Steelers defense has been so good since he's been drafted, he's been put in a position to put up good statistics because the D puts him back on the field all the time and basically can't carry a team like Manning, Brady or Brees. Yeah right. ... While the Steelers D has been great most of the time, definitely contributing to his winning record, if anything it's kept him from putting up big numbers. If he played on teams with shitty defense like Manning, Brees, Romo or Palmer, he would have been throwing for 4,000+ yards every year and the commentators would be slurping him up all the time. But, because all he does is whatever it takes to win -- 2 Super Bowls. Two! -- he's a "second-tier" guy. And he can carry a team as good or better than any QB in the league. Examples: All last year, especially the Super Bowl; he also was rated #2 behind Brady recently in a "clutch QB" study that took into account more than just game winning drives.
Anyway, Young's pompous ass really irks me. He was a great QB and all, but I think like most ex-QBs, his ego keeps him from giving credit where credit is due.

I think he came back and called him an elite QB, but not up with the others. He annoys most people, including myself. When talking from a position of knowledge about teams making QB's he must have forgot how horrible he was in Tampa. So much so they gave up on him.
