Stopping AP and other thoughts
The Steelers coaching staff has correctly identified stopping AP as critical to beating the Vikes. It can be done (Mendenhall has more rushing yards in the last 3 games than AP), but it is not enough.
Both the Packers in week #4 (55 yds, 2.2 ave) and the Rams in week #5 (63 yds, 4.5 ave.) held AP in check. HOWEVER, the Rams lost the turnover battle 4-1 and the Pack lost it 2-1. Also, the Vikes were 7 for 7 in the redzone in these two games while the Pack and Rams were 0-2 and 0-4 respectively.
If the Steelers can stop AP AND take care of the ball AND finish drives, they win and win big.
That's three big IFs.

Even if Peterson said his prayers and ate his vitamins all week long, he doesn't intimidate me. Chester Taylor seems like more of a concern. The Steelers need to limit his big plays on long yardage and 3rd downs.

That's a great point. Chester Taylor is the kind of back that would traditionally have a huge game against Pittsburgh.
