Camp Cupcake?

Postby UncommonSteel » Sun Sep 27, 2009 7:16 pm

Ok, I just watched our vaunted "D" get gassed in the second half of a big game. And I am wondering if all the "nicey nicey" stuff that coach Tomlin had going on during training camp had anything to do with the obvious lack of conditioning of our defensive players. I mean, this is the first year that I can remember training camp being described as anything less than taxing and I have watched for two weeks in a row as our Steelers "D" has looked tired at the end of games and unable to finish off teams anywhere like I am used to. Now, this is not to take any of the blame off the O ... Sweed in particular with his touchdown drop and Santonio also was A.W.O.L. this game ... on another note, I am not so sure that Wallace is our #3 (LOL), as he is showing that he has the ability and the desire to be at LEAST a #2 in the future (if not our/Ben's #1).

All negativity aside, I am, and will ALWAYS be a FAN of the STEELERS and if any team can turn a season around, this is the team that can do it!

Two weeks in a row our D disappears into the sunset? It's no coincidence. Camp cup cake is definitely a big part of the issue. Almost ALL winning teams who consistently pull through 4th quarter wins point to conditioning as a key ingredient. This team, lead by Casey Fat #*@^ Hampton, are not where they need to be. Pitiful... Tomlin overcompensated this year and has only one person to blame... the man in the mirror. Sure Sweed dropped a critical pass but don't forget... the Stillers had the lead when the D took the field. They had the last say and they threw up on themselves again. No excuse for it. Championship teams overcome mistakes like Sweed's.

On the Sweed note, he's a mental midget that can't hack it. He's an inconsistent waste of talent... and I'm glad he lost the number 3 position to a rookie with balls.

Wallace is definitely on his way to a productive season. Impressive for a rook. Sweed? Bed wetter... I hope he has coupons for Huggies.... or maybe he can even work out a sponsorship:

Holy Christ. Taht is the funniest thing since the Pirates being a baseball team. I tell you what, Wallace has been more consistent than Holmes.

Many vets are underperforming.
D looked gassed after bengals had 20 minutes of time of possession.
Buck stops with Tomlin.
Camp Cupcake is a factor
