what's going on here, technically
I am on a different machine and am doing fine as far as getting in and posting (This is a MAC-NATURALLY!) When I try to access any forum on my home machine (WINDBLOWS-NATCH!) I get some weird firewall message. Can any of you windows guys tell me how to correct this? I will be back here tommorow so I will read the answer then.

ugh. mac users' too-cool-for-the-room arrogance makes me sick.
it's just different software. get over yourselves.
windows firewall settings for XP are located at Start > Settings > Control Panel > Security Center.
more settings at bottom-right under "manage security settings for..."
i would guess it to be an issue within your browser, however.

I had the same problem too for the last month. I still can't get to the Forums from Firefox. Only Internet Explorer will work.
