Officials Judgement

Postby smheart78 » Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:08 am

I know others have stated this on this board, but this kinda gets me pissed
Harrison, the NFL defensive player of the year in 2008 who has no sacks in two games, said he was held eight times in Chicago without drawing a penalty.

"I've had officials tell me if you were closer I would have called it," he said. "Well, if [the blocker] wasn't holding, I would have been closer. If he wouldn't have held me, I probably would have sacked [Cutler]."

I'm sure there is always something that could be called a penalty on most plays in the NFL, and that the refs should just let them play most of the time and only call it when necessary. Agreed. But, a little hold, throughout the course of the game adds up, however, and something like this should be called once, just to stop it from continuing...or maybe Harrison should just stop complaining get to the freaking QB! What do you guys think?

Do what Joe Greene did and kick the dude in the nuts. When the leaugue reviews the films to enact fines and penalties, show it for what it is-Holding non calls.

I think the Harrison should review some film of Freeny and figure out how to present as if he is doing his thing going around the edge just before he spins to the inside and sacks the QB. If he could figure that out once or twice early in the game then we would be here talking about how much they won't call holding. We would all be talking about how many years he can win defensemen of the year!

Silverback is still creating havoc in the backfield. He will have a big day feeding on Palmer this week. :!:

Palmer has next to no mobility. Thus unless is three step drops all day he will get pressured.

Then if he three step drops I don't think Cincy can pull off the 90+ yds drives that the Bears did.

The sacks will come. Plus a defense that gives up 13.5 pts/game will lead the league or be in the top two or three at the end of the year.

Harrison will be lucky to get ten sacks if Woodley doesnt show up. Fuck i bet Wallace could do better than what woodley is right now lol.
