THE stupidest play in NFL History

Postby PGHeaven » Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:14 pm

Due to its utterly predictable play into the opposite teams strength at the precisely wrong moment in time aspect. The handoff by Phillip the asshole Rivers to Darrin why did you do this to me Sproles on the last play of game 2 between the hapless Chargers and the despised Ravens is hereby declared the stupidest play in NFL history

My wrath knows no bounds here. After watching the stillers throw away a game to Veal Cutlet and the Chicago beerbellies I eagerly watched in the forlorn hope that somehow the Chargers would vanquish the Shitbirds and leave us tied in record. What I got was this

On 3rd down, when they had the luxury of attempting a doomed play like this - they did not - instead running a bootleg in which Rivers flailed the skin OB as if he was Alfred E Newman saying "what - me worry?

So here we are - the setup for histories stupidest play. 4th down and a long 2 yards no time left. Phillip the asshole Rivers walks up to the line. Sproles is alone in the backfield. Rivers (the asshole) does not go with a quick count, instead wiling away the time in a fashion that allows Ray Ray Lewis to creep up to the line and stand there uncovered with a Grand Canyonesque view into the Chargers backfield. Phillip (the asshole) Rivers somehow either doesnt see the gargantuan Ray Ray staring a hole into him - or decides it does not matter - and instead of audibilizing out of the doomed play finally calls the snap count and Sproles is flattened by Lewis in the backfield nanoseconds after the handoff. Ray Ray was over on the sidelines celebrating the victory before Sproles even got off the ground

That ladies and gentlemen, was THE stupidest play in NFLhistory

That play requires a different catrgory - perhaps the worst individual performance in NFL history - or - worst drop in NFL history

But the play was not at all stupid. matter of fact, it was the opposite, it was brilliant. Here is Limas Peed left alone in the EZ. So you see, the play call was not at all stupid

Unlike the handoff to Sproles into the teeth of the Ratbirds Dline on 4th and 2 game on the line. They are STILL showing that replay and will all year long. THAT was the stupidest play in NFL history

Agreed. I am sorry. I should have asked for permission before brining up that gawd-awful play. At least we won the Super Bowl... Wallace is going to make Sweed regret ever fucking around and not trying his hardest when he did. I know Arians doesnt like putting talent on the field but that catch could have made us forget his mediocore regular season last year.

Funny - here we are again revisiting Limas Sweed and his ghastly all time worst highlight reel

He now has two abortions to his credit. I say he does not survive this latest spectacle. Wallace plays from here on out Sweed either rots the bench or does NOT dress
