first offensive play vs Titans

Postby stillchest » Wed Sep 09, 2009 10:11 am

I want to get other's thoughts on what our first offensive play from scrimmage will be tomorrow evening.

I think that, they run "double tight, 24 slash"...which is Parker plunging into the right side of our putrid line..for 1 yard.

Also, we might get flagged for a false start by Colon or a hold by Piss Kemo..before or on the first snap.

It's all about the line. Go ahead and test them early I say. If we can just get even on the line without them pushing 3 yards into our backfeild we'll see some major improvements. One thing I noticed about re-watching the Superbowl 43 game...is that Ben senses and knows the weakness of the line and knows how to proceed through it. Familiarity helps.
Whatever we do...run towards Heath!

It would be helpful to stay out of third and longs..it has become routine because of poor play calling, for our offense to continually be in third and seven yards plus.

Two consecutive pass plays on our first possession would get Ben and the WR's in groove early. Spread the field and utilize our speed with quick screens and digs.

I foresee Colon getting flagged for not lining up properly on the line of scrimmage.

our first offensive play will be the point-after attempt following Logan's kickoff return for touchdown.

In all reality I think our first series will go like this: Parker up the middle - no gain. Parker right side - no gain. Screen pass to Moore - gain of six. Punt. That's about how creative Bruce Arians is.

Logan is lined up at tailback. Wallace and Ward split wide right. Holmes lines up wide left. Ben fakes the reverse to Wallace then rolls right and hits Logan on a deep wheel route up the right hash marks........... GIVE HIM SIX !! Parker cant be trusted on this play coz he cant catch !! :(

Throw the fuckin bomb to Holmes. Right off the bat. Paste em in the mouth and show em who's bossa this league. I saw Bradshaw do it, Ben can too.

Exactly, I think that, we should come out passing. Even if we do not hit the splash play immediately, we come back with a pass on second down..no silly two WR, two tight set..this formation has become stale and predictable...we must show them that we can move the ball passing and that we will do so.

After we're flagged for #74 - "False Start", we take our 5 yard loss, go into the same formation for a FWP Right Tackle dive. But then Kemo reaches across and smacks the nose tackle in the face. Drop back another 5. We then go into our "other" formation where Hines comes in motion just off the TE. We still do the off-tackle dive play because Aians is trying tobe real sneaky here and fool 'em. We lose another 3-5 yds but this is where it gets better... the Police comne to the sidelines and arrest Arians for impersonnating an Offensive Coodinator. "yes, Bruce, you really are "offensive"!

Could not have said it any better myself. Put that one in the book fellas.

I would not be surprised if our SECOND SERIES is exactly the same as well.

I continue to drive home the point that they won the SB in SPITE of AirNuts..

Paker? Paker?

Is this some new ingenius formation that Arians has invented? The Paker offense? Will it be sweeping the NFL next year much like the wildcat is this year? I can't wait to see Arians the "Mad Offensive Scientist" unveil his new Paker Offense!

Or did you just misspell Parker? haha

in all reality, our first series will probably be pretty good. remember the first series in the super bowl? other than not getting the ball in the endzone we moved down the field easily. probably because bruce had a long time to prepare. then as the game goes on, he's not good at thinking on his feet in quick situations.

he's had two months to prepare this drive, it should successful. then he won't go back to it.

we should have bruce do the first series, then have ben run the second, so bruce can have time to think up another drive.

So glad you brought that up, SCM. Do you remember how WIDE FRIGGIN' OPEN Hines was on that pattern on the first play? We all saw that and said, "Oh Yeah, game on! Hines is healthy and Arians is clickin' on both brain cells!"

Gee, maybe that might have been put in the back pocket for later? Oh no, we can't do that. We can't be doing stuff that works. Never saw THAT plafy again. Ben hit Miller on that drive wide open as well, I believe. Just like the playoff games of '05 season. Masterful game plans. Now we use a Big 10 offense from the Woody Hayes era.
