William Reginald Cowher.

Postby lloydgreene » Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:34 am

Not sure if Reginald is his middle name, I just like the way it sounded.

What is your opinion of Coach Cowher? I always loved the guy but there seems to be differing opinions out there. I'm interested in hearing both sides, but please explain your opinion.

For example, I always love to see fire and passion in a coach. If I show more passion on my couch than a coach does on the field I worry about his dedication. You also can not argue with his record. Except for the "Big Game" albatross that hung aroudn his neck, he won many division titles, hosted the AFC championship game many times, and yes even won a Super Bowl. (Although we all believe we should have won more). I loved seeing the jaw get fired up. Like when he stuffed that picture in the official's shirt pocket (the picture showed we had 11 guys on the field when we just got flagged for 12 men on the field). Like when he almost came off the sideline to personally tackle that player who just picked us off and was running for 6.

The fact that we had the talent to win more titles should not discount the fact that many teams have the talent to win the super bowl every year. It is extremely difficult to keep a winning team together -much less play at such a high level for so long. Cowher did a great job keeping that bar high- even in the tough years. Plus I love watching the spit flying around on the sidelines. HAHA

Anyways, your thoughts?

Noll was a cerebral guy. Bellichick(sp) is a cerebral guy. Tomlin is a cerebral guy. Walsh was a cerebral guy. I'll take them any day over an emotional puke who cannot learn from his past mistakes.

middle name is "Laird"

He brought some respect back to the Burgh. That's about all I will say for him.

I loved Cowher's emotion, I thought it was great. I didn't like the fact that we never addressed our quarter back issue under Cowher, until we got Ben of course. When I think of the jackasses we had lining up under center it makes me want to gag. And how long did he stick with Kordell? The answer - way to fucking long. I don't know if Korky had a compromising picture of coach that he held over him as leverage or what. But there is no way that piece of shit should have hung around as a qb as long as he did. I blame that on the coach. Korky and all the other miserable fucks we had at qb was Billy's fault in my opinion. I will give him credit for grinding out a lot of wins in the regular season. That's about it,,,,,

add this to the previous post......how fuking long did Cowhard stick with Mike Prozac on the roster ???? About 3 years too long, if not more.

No site, anywhere, has written more about the shortcoming of Billy Cowhard than this one. We were the first to expose Cowhard as a fraud, in fact.

Fuk Billy Cowher.

That is what I love about the STEELERS NATION (all other "nations" are BS)- we expect super bowls and anything less someone's head should roll!

Tomlin is the most impressive coach Ive seen in a long time when it comes to disussing the game. I LOVE his demeanor and his understanding of the game... except how it would help to run the football better... (just a jab I couldn't resist)
