Postby thesteelhammer » Fri Apr 17, 2009 9:49 pm

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced they have claimed RB Gary Russell (Steelers) off waivers.

There goes our play book.

Wow. Considering the competition: Kenny Watson, Cedric Benson, and Chris Perry, I think Russell could compete for the starting job.

Two possible shots here.

1) Arians has a playbook?

2) Good thing there's no one there who can read.

If Russell got in trouble in PGH, where else would he have ended up?

That's a little harsh. They can spell "DUI" and "DWI" just fine, along with select words like "possession", "underage", "community service" and "3-5 years".

Point being, you shouldn't just go around assuming someone's an illiterate. It's just not nice.

I don't think he got to unpack his cleats.

Bye Bye Russell,

Think he even got issued a jersey & Helmet for his collection?

The Cincinnati Bengals have waived RB Gary Russell

Think the bengals got the steelers playbook from him?

Is the writing on the wall for Dixon already?

Postby PSUPERCY » Tue Apr 28, 2009 4:16 pm

The steelers sign two free agent QBs. Are they saying something about their faith in Dixon?

Of course they got the "Playbook".
Both pages were folded up in his back pocket.
Problem with that is that all 3 plays were there.

Since both pages are in Oakland now, what do you bet the Raiduhs are looking for which side the glue is on to lick for their doobies? Of course, with 2 papers and 3 plays means there is still room for a 4th play.

Anybody got one to sent to BA? :subngtowl:

Just to be the Devil's advocate here (and yes BA is the devil).

Arians overcame a pretty weak offensive line performance last year. He still called 95% of the plays that allowed us to go 12-4 without our 2 top running backs and a line that had no experience as a unit.

That being said, HE IS GOING TO GET BEN KILLED THIS YEAR! We have to be able to run for positive yards even when the defense knows we are running. Sometime, all of Ben's nicks and cuts are going to add up and he is going to miss games if the line can not get us a consistent 3 or 4 yards per run.

SCREW VICK! Bring back Kordell! We'll call it the "WildScat" offense. And Bam Morris, we can call it the "Weedcat" offense.

The Billy Cowhard experiment gone bad. Oh what wasted years :!: The best part of Kordell ran down his mothers leg.

I luv it when the Clowns or Bungles or Crows take one of our cast-offs & tries to use inside info to beat the Stillers. One, it shows desperation. Two, the players they typically sign are dumb-shiites, And three, all it does is use up a roster spot on their teams which could otherwise be put to better use.

Tom Coughlin, while he was with Jacksonville (and they were in our division), did this annually. He was so obvious about it, that the Steelers logged an official complaint with the league about it.
