Mendenhall to start Saturday

Postby thesteelhammer » Fri Aug 28, 2009 9:43 pm

Ray Fittipaldo, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall will likely start the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, because RB Willie Parker (hamstring) has not practiced all week. Mendenhall will have the chance to see extended playing time in the game.

The real question is... "How good can Mendenhall actually look executing Arians' myopic playbook?"

And for the love of all that is Holy, can we please STOP trying to RUN out of the bunch formation, and without a fullback nonetheless. Then again, maybe Arians might get a better clue what's going on if his a$$ was up in the booth where the O-coordinator belongs. He has arguably the worst view in the house on the sidelines. No wonder he can't see 9 defenders in the box.

"Lemme see here. If they got 9 o' them there defenders up 'ere, 'n we only got 1 guy runnin' the ball, that should leave us 10 other guys to block 'em with. Yeah, that'll work for sure!"
Quote: From the Bruce Arians "I can Fool 'em Playbook" on sale now in grade schools everywhere.

Geez, this guy must have a bottom drawer full of pictures or something. How can he possibly pass for an OC?Guaranteed if he were fired, (too bad he can't get cut) no one, absolutely NO ONE would grab this guy.

Someone PLEASE tell me what they see in this guy? We get to SB BECAUSE Ben has to run the 2-minute drill and call HIS OWN shots in waaaayyyyyy toooooooo many games! Why do we have to come from behind soooo many times to begin with considering the talent we have?
