Isaac Redman WOW
I did a search on Redman and came across over 15 minutes of highlight film on Youtube called the Isaac Redman Show Part 1 and 2. He always carries the ball in the outside arm and has a good stiff arm. Several times he put his hand on the ground to maintain his balance and fight for extra yardage. Very good feet and cuts back extremely well. He shows great vision and instinct to hit the backside hole. He broke a ton of tackles and rarely gives up on a run or goes down easily. Looks to have soft hands on a few pass plays as well. He supposedly has done well in pass protection at camp and has caught the eye of Coach Tomlin. With his size, some extra work and experience he can be a complete back. He played vs. a low level of competition no doubt and i saw a bunch of guys who were afraid to hit him. but he has come into camp and opened a lot of eyes. There is also a piece on him at the teams official web site. Take care everybody !!........"But make no mistake what he showed us the other day was pretty interesting" -Mike Tomlin on Isaac Redman

Bust out Bam Morris! He's ready for a Michael Vick type comeback!
Redman looked great. Of course it was against a bunch of scrubs. I wonder if he could help create his own hole if he played behind our first string line. It was disgusting how many times our running backs were hit in the backfield on hand offs.

Redman did look good. I have been hearing his name since training camp started so there is something to him. One thing I did notice, however, was that he ran into empty holes.
Get off Mendenhall's back! He tokk the handoff and had to avoid one, two or three Cardinals defenders before he hit the line of scrimmage on MANY occaisions. He was a first round pick for a reason- he has talent. And don't forget he ran well last year when given the chance. If what you are asking for is a running back that can make his own holes, then you are going to be disappointed all year. FWP would not have looked good last night behnd that lazy blocking!

Re: Isaac Redman WOW
Redman may have a shot but it would be nice to see him get some carries when the 2nd team guys are on the field and not the 3rd or 4th. I think someone needs to get hurt for him to make the 53 man roster. However, if what we are hearing is true he could stick on the practice squad.
Remember who else got his start there, FWP.
I like guys like that who are hungry and bust ass. All that said Mendenhall does need some leeway. The last series he was in he got 17 yards I think on 3 carries. It is always hard to evaluate a RB. I hope they can get him in space or hit him with screen passes in the coming weeks.

Re: Isaac Redman WOW
According to the "official" site. Redman got all 7 carries in todays goal line drill with the FIRST Team and scored 5 times.
Meanwhile Moore is still missing practice.
This kid is going to make this team.
Only question is who does not.

Re: Isaac Redman WOW
would he be a sure thing to make the practice squad? i thought teams had a chance to sign other teams practice squaders? seems unlikely that a guy making this much splash on a team with this many RB's would be unsigned by some other team not so deep at RB.
Personally I wouldn't mind if cary davis never played in a steelers jersey ever again. I can't stand the guy and immediately sigh every time he is given the chance to carry the ball. with his fat slow legs churning so fast, yet going nowhere. it makes me sick to my stomach.

If the oline, any oline, thinks a guy is a candy ass they won't block for him.

Maybe, just maybe, Arianscould use formations that keep the opposing D's from stuffing the box so much. Tight formations with Hines in tight, 2-TE's, and 1 wideout - ...
"Geez, ya think it will be a run Stan? Why don't we linebackers just kinda hang around the line here an' see which way the back wants to go 'n we'll ALL go git 'im."
Can't they (ARIANS?) learn anything from the films? I would hope MT is screaming to open up the offense and use the weapons he has. I think that is why Ben is sucessful in 2-minute drills because he does open it up and Arians can't say a &^%$ word about it. Thank God for the "D" but surely they get tired of too many "3 'n out" too.

WE WERE SPOILED WITH THE BUS, AND WE AS FANS WANT TO SEE A REPLACEMENT FOR A VERY UNIQUE AND SPECIAL TYPE OF BACK. IT TAKES PATIENCE AND TIME TO GET THOSE TYPES OF PLAYERS ON BOARD. BTW, CAPLOCKS ARE EASIER TO READ I.M.H.O. ...

I used to love it when we lined up at the goal line and in came the Bus. Everybody in America knew what was coming and the great part about it was that nothing could be done. Wouldnt break my heart any if this started all over again with Redman.

Uh Oh.
CBSSports.com reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said RB Isaac Redman needs to contribute in some way on special teams if he wants to earn a spot on the final roster. Redman has performed well in goal line situations during the preseason.

Probably means Tomlin has a thing for Burnett. I was thinking it was going to come down to Logan and Burnett
