I am not sure how this truly helps. He is not a hitter like Clark so he cannot paly that position. We have Troy as our other safety. If we are simply looking at depth behind Troy I guess it makes sense, but how does that beat being the third corner?

He gives the ball back to the offense. His ability to play both positions allows us to keep more corners and he can cover the back up role at safety should we need one. The rooks we have at CB are too good to take a chance on them clearing waivers.

Lewis, Burnett, & Ratliff all make this team.

To me it sounds like the writing is on the wall for Tyrone Carter.

HEY, GUESS WHAT? I learned how to turn off the caps lock... This reminds me of when our recent H.O.F.'r Rod
Woodson said that he didn't wanna play safety, even though he got a lucrative contract. Maybe Townsend learned from his mistakes?

He's too smart, too experienced to not have around. Carter is history as rookies seem like a good group as mentioned. DeShea's returned picks for 6 a few times over last few years as nickel or even 3rd safety. That's experience. Like having another coach only he's on the field.

Carter's not going any where.

I really like the fact that we are discussing this.... seems like good problems to have in the secondary. I would like to see who we have to back up our linebackers and our O-line get some consistency.

I know I am an old school fuddy duddy, but there is something just so SEXY about handing the ball off to our running back and getting 4 or 5 yards when the defense knows its coming. We could not do that at all last year, it seems.
