WE were right about Limas Sweed
Said it many times before, the guy would have been the top reciever picked in his draft if it wasn't for his injury.
He is a STUD. He was a stud in college. He's a huge target, and he dives and adjusts himself to the ball better than ALOT of recievers.
I'm not going to say he's the second coming of Plexico, but i GARUNTEE u guys he will fill the role nicely.
He's going to upgrade this passing game significantly throughout this season and next.
In fact, ALOT of you guys were saying the same thing too!

I was also really impressed with Mike Wallace. Made some good catches on slant routes with Dixon rifiling the ball into him. McDonald looked okay but didn't seem nearly as explosive as Wallace after the cath.

What I like the best about Sweed, other than his #1 NFL receiver potential, is the type of coverages he is going to see this year! As the third guy, he is going to (we hope) be able to exploit some nickle and back-up type of DB's! He passed the eye ball test in the first game. Looks good!

I think that Sweed is a bust. But I thought Holmes was gonna be a bust too. So who knows?

I think we need to hold off on saying Sweed has turned the corner here. Yes he looked good lastnight but it was on PREseason game. Here is hoping the OP is right

What we can say about Sweed to this point is that he looks better this year than he did last and that is fairly normal for the position. He looks better in practice and as you all saw he looks better in games. I would expect him to continue to improve.

He looked so much more comfortable and relaxed out there last night. With the exception of the dropped pass from Dixon when Sweed couldn't get his chin strap buckled I thought he looked like a good investment with our 2nd pick.
Re: WE were right about Limas Sweed
Sweed made a couple of good catches, but missed one on the sideline that he should have had. All-in-all he looked pretty good, but it is only one preseason game. I'd like to see more from him and Wallace. McDonald made a few catches look hard by bobbling them (burt he did pull them in). Those bobbles could turn into drops or INT's very easily. Can't wait to see a little more from all of these guys.
On a side note, I also liked what I say from TE Johnson (#85) blocking-wise. Had a couple good seals on the end. I'm gunna keep my eye on him too.

Re: WE were right about Limas Sweed
I was high on Sweed even when Steeler Nation wrote him off last year.
But, It will take more than 2 catches for Sweed to be the true #3 WR on this team.
However, the AZ game was a good start. Plus there have been a lot of good comments made by the coaches and on other sites about his camp and his work ethic. We just need to remember that we do not need a #1 WR numbers out of him this year. I suspect he will get us 40-50 catches and 5-6 TD's.
If Wallace stays dependable we could kill people with a 4 WR set.
