This is how bad the situation has gotten on the O-line

Postby thesteelhammer » Tue Aug 11, 2009 10:14 pm

Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers C Justin Hartwig (toe) is not expected to play in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13.

Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers C Doug Legursky will start in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13, if C Justin Hartwig (toe) is not able to play.

Thankfully Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, also reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the starters will only play a few series during their first preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13. So Ben will only have to survuve a few snaps behind this crappy O-line.

Jesus. I wouldn't play Ben for one snap if I were Tomlin. You know the Cards are looking for a cheap shot after the SB, and Ben doesn't need the reps that badly. I'd let Batch and Dixon play the whole game.

Dixon is going to need all of his speed just to avoid the pressure our 2nd and 3 liners are going to let in. Let's all say a quick prayer for him before the game....he's gonna need it!

Shit. Batch will be on I.R. playing behind this line.
He is glass.

Guess those Dixon fans would be happy.

Got to wonder about the health of our RB's behind that line also.
The vets must see it.

CBSSports.com reports Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Willie Parker (back) and Mewelde Moore (hamstring) are unlikely to play in the team's preseason opener. As a result, RB Rashard Mendenhall is expected to see plenty of action.

Pro football Weekly sees the problem
http://www.profootballweekly.com/2009/08/08/stapletons-injury-tests-steelers-o-line-depth

any serious injury to Stapleton would hurt the club's O-line depth, which was not a strength even before he got hurt.

I hope Mendy doesn't fuck up his shoulder again. If he gets a shit load of work tomorrow and gets hurt I'm going to be extremly diasppointed in this kid. My God I hope this kid pans out

I heard we were going to trade Bruce Davis and a 5th round pick in the 2021 draft for Nick Mangold.

Thoughts?

Would do that in a heartbeat. I'd even make it a 5th round pick in the 2010 draft.
no way is it true.
