New return men
Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said WR Mike Wallace and CB Joe Burnett will be used as returners during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13. Wallace will return the first kickoff, while Burnett will return the first punt.

I was at training camp today, and Wallace looked very explosive during receiving drills. We'll see how he looks on Thursday returning kicks

Hey Lake, did you get a chance to see Stefan Logan? There was lots of chatter about how he is a great return man in the CFL.

Hoge - I've been wondering the same thing... haven't heard much about him.

Same here. I heard all kinds of good things about Stefan Logan coming into camp. Haven't heard a peep from him sense. But with all the talk of Wallce's speed I sure am excited to see our special teams this week. I can't even fathom the thought of an explosive return guy who doesn't fumble the ball!

Re: New return men
I though this was our second glaring weakness last year (O-line being first). Our return game givng us an extra 20 or 30 yards a game would make a big difference for us. Maybe even breaking one long without having to use Santonio.
However, good return men aren't worth a hill of beans behind poor blocking. Seems like that was our big issue last year. I hope we have improved on that front!

the problem we seem to have with those explosive returners... they are thinking about the return before they catch the ball.
let's hope wallace is better than that

Yeah I saw Logan, doing wide receiver drills when all of the other running backs were doing drills in the opposite endzone. He was running routes and catching throws from the QB's rather than taking part in RB drills. I don't know what that was all about. He did look pretty good catching the ball but at 5'7 185lbs, I don't see him as being a wide receiver....He did look very quick and smooth though and also he was catching punts with someone else (I thought a DB, but I can't remember)
