Faneca
Scott Brown, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports New York Jets OG Alan Faneca said he does not have any hard feelings toward the Pittsburgh Steelers since they did not try to re-sign him when he became a free agent. Faneca said he had mixed emotions seeing the Steelers in the Super Bowl but was excited for the players when they won.

Re: Faneca
I am sure the mixed feelings was his mind screaming "they can not possibly win a Super Bowl without me". Bet he also was wearing a red shirt while watching it too!

Re: Faneca
Faneca was a whine-ass about his contract here. His reputation for that ruined the 9-10 good yrs he put in here. He'll be rich but be scrambling to help Gang-Green get to their first SB in about 40 yrs.

Don't matter at all. Porter, Randell El, Hope, Foote or Faneca. I still thank them all for the years they put in here as a Steeler. Now do i agree with the way some of them left us? Nope not at all but we as fans need to remember that it's a business and guys will look out for #1

Re: Faneca
the organization knows who we NEED and who we could use but won't hurt without.
some players aren't smart enough to know which list they are on before they say/do things.

Re: Faneca
That is true. It is "Plug 'n Play". Porter goes BECAUSE James is ready to go. Randel El goes BECAUSE Nate is there, or some other # 3 guy. It is amazing how they find these people to plug in and step up when they sense who is about to get their knickers in a twist. How many more will get the same vision of stardom before they realize it is all about "team"?
I believe they will get Miller wrapped up to finish here because he is so clutch, the FO knows it, and he too, knows it is a team thing and more rings are out there because of it. Other than Vrabel, who has benefited after leaving? Plax got his ring but he's done now and not in a good way.
We'll have to see what happens at Pgh West Cardinals to see if McF and Co. pan out.

Sometimes the "plug" doesn't live up though.
We all remember Jermain Stephens.

Oh yeah, Huey Richardson, Ricketts didn't last long, Rienstra, there have been a few. But then they find a few like Hartings, Bettis's, et al, who more than make up for those who didn't make the "plug". All in all, they have quite a system working there.
