Ex-NFL QB McNair found shot to death...

Postby thepixburghkid » Sat Jul 04, 2009 6:27 pm

ESPN: Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed, a source has confirmed to ESPN.com.

McNair, 36, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville, police spokesperson Don Aaron said. A female victim was also found dead.

"I don't have any answers for you now as to what's happened, who's responsible," Aaron said.

Aaron said police have tentatively identified the woman but did not release her name.

The incident happened near 2nd South & Lea Ave in Nashville.

McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL, 11 were with the Titans. He played his final two years with the Baltimore Ravens, retiring after the 2007 season.

"We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair's passing today," Titans owner K.S. "Bud" Adams Jr. said in a statement. "He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing."

McNair was picked third overall in the 1995 draft out of Alcorn State by the then Houston Oilers.

Can the nonsense. McNair was one tough hombre. A warrior at QB. Deserves respect from all. May have had his issues at times but let him rest. Enough of the garbage stuff.

McNair was tough as hell. Always hated when we played against him.

Sad to hear of his passing, but as the news comes out looks like he was the cause of it.

R.I.P.

Couldn't stand McNair when he was a Raven, but loved him as a football player. He may possibly be the toughest QB I've seen in my time.

ESPN.com reports a 20-year-old woman, Sahel Kazemi, was also found shot to death Saturday, July 4, along with former NFL QB Steve McNair. Nashville (Tenn.) police said a pistol was found near Kazemi's body and that she had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said McNair's wife, MeChelle, is "very distraught." Aaron added, "At this juncture, we do not believe she is involved. Nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no."

ESPN.com reports former NFL QB Steve McNair's death was ruled a homicide Sunday, July 5. Nashville (Tenn.) police stopped short of saying it was a murder-suicide committed by Sahel Kazemi, the 20-year-old girlfriend also found dead Saturday, July 4. Police said McNair was shot four times, twice in the head and twice in the chest. Kazemi was found with a single gunshot wound to the head, and the pistol was found under her body. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said the two had been in a "dating relationship for past several months." When asked if the death could have been caused by a lover's quarrel, Aaron said, "That's a very important part of the investigation as we work to ultimately classify Miss Kazemi's death."

Wife...

20 year old girlfriend...

Pretty much explains itself.

McNair was a warrior, no doubt. I have one question: How the hell does that guy go on vacations to Key West, Vegas, etc & the wife, at home w/ 4 sons, not know about the relationship?

All the police have to do is examine the hands of the female for gun powder residue. (It is strange the gun was found under her body) But if forensics tests prove to be positive for powder residue on the hand thats on the same side as the entrance wound that will close the case. The 35 minute delayed call to police is unusual as well. McNair was a warrior and he gave us fits and we should can the classless comments. NOT COOL.

G.S.R. testing is not a reliable test.
Lawyers have field days with it.
