He also gave Tomlin practically every single starter aside from Woodley. Dude, the guy is living in Carolina now and said he'd root for the Pens if we eliminated them. He also supported the Steelers during the assbeating of the Ravens on MNF last year and in the Superbowl w/ Arizona. Long live the Chin :sucope:

Yeah, I too was dissappointed with the '06 season with the talent we had, but this post sells him short, even after the heartbreaking AFCC choke jobs. After well over a decade long drought of any successes whatsoever through the eighties, the guy made a significant contribution to turning this team around to be a perennial competitor. And that is what Mike Tomlin was left with.

In 15 years:
Super Bowl Wins: 1
Conference Championships: 2
Conerence Championship appearances: 6
Division Championships: 9

I love the attitude of high expectations with no-bull-shit on your posts, but I, for one, felt too euphoric to be that pissed at the guy after winning us our record tying 5th superbowl trophy.

Cowher was talented underachiever.

That is, he won a ton of games, but when it came to the most important games, he usually choked.

He was befuddled and stupid, yet was an emotional motivator and a relatively good judge of talent.

However, one of Cowher's main shortcomings was that he could not adequately judge skill at the quarterback position.

So, here was a dull yet inspiring, savvy yet stupid man. A paradox in that regard, but clearly having an inferior psyche.

Field Goal Bill. The Puckering Ass.

And he did pack his bags a YEAR before he left town.

Overall, I say "good riddance" to Bill Cowher and his spittle-covered chin and his tired routine of huffing and puffing, chest butting and other compensatory behaviors.

And finally, I enjoy it when people berate him. I don't know why, it just feels right. :sufootballhelmet:

I completely agree w/Mill and believe that Gravity and Heart are missing the boat on this one. One of the things that Bilbo always had going for him was that he was a "Pittsburgh Guy". Sure he played for the Browns, but at heart, he was one of us.

His inability to get the most out of his talent and his multiple home Championship gags were whitewashed because at least he was a Pittsburgh Guy. He knew what the team meant to the City-what all local teams mean to the City-because after all either you're a Pittsburgh Guy or you're just passing through and you'll never understand.

To become a 'Canes fan is one thing; to go out of your way to make a spectacle of yourself and actively root against your home town team is quite another.
Bilbo has forfeited his Pittsburgh street cred w/his unbelievably myopic display of clownery at the game on May 26. He has voluntarily and unilaterally tainted his legacy in the Burgh and should be loudly and roundly booed whenever he shows his rat-toothed grill in the 412 and vicinity. What a jagoff.

- Known for constantly "blowing his own horn" and giving himself all the credit
- Refusal to ever admit errors in judgment or mistakes
- Shows complete inability to change despite obvious signs it's needed

Quick, are those traits describing Bill Cowher or StillMill? I honestly can't tell.

Really though, the thought of StillMill criticizing another human being for being pompous, I mean, that has to be a joke right? I can't count the number of articles I've read on here that StillMill had obviously written for the sole purpose of pounding his chest in front of everyone. I'd go as far to say that just most articles have this same underlying theme, even if they don't come right out and say it (although most certainly do).

And you're going to judge someone else on that same criteria?!? Dear God (I'm referring to the Christian Deity. Not you.) man, wake up. There's a world outside your mirror. Live it! Enjoy it!

And here I was, getting excited that this site was beginning to gain some of its integrity back. Then, StillMill had to resurface.

Oh, well. It was nice while it lasted, at least.

Yep, Cowher looked like a total Horse's ass and is perhaps the most dis-loyal person around. A shining example of some of the dis-loyal Americans poisoning the next generation and radically altering the country...

Anyway, If he was truly loyal to Pittsburgh he just could have said - I wish the Canes the best, but I'm from Pittsburgh and their my team so I'm pulling for them.

mcbaddie:

give me a break. does the mill hurt your feelings. the reason this site is good, is because it provides [in addition to analysis] some funny sarcasm. I mean, for fuck's sake, that picture of cowher was priceless. i mean, even if you loved him, that picture made him look like a complete and utter tool. who cares if mill has all of the attributes you claim are true, his shit is funny. Isn't that the point with some of his writing. For christ sake, where else are you going to go find shit like that.

Guess it is time for you to go find an internet site with "integrity". Maybe you should stick to espn.com, that way your world won't be in a state of flux should someone writes something that makes you so sad.

There is nothing wrong with tooting your own horn when your right and I usually find Mill to be right on. The difference is Billy was usually choking it and to dumb and arogant to realize it.

As always, Mill is right on. I couldn't have said it better myself. The old man still has it. :sufootballhelmet: :sucope:
