James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers have had preliminary discussions with FS Ryan Clark about a contract extension.

All the UFA we have after this season, and Clark is the top priority?

He's not the top priority, but he is probably the lowest hanging fruit. It will be easier for the FO to work out a deal with Clark than Heath Miller or Justin Hartwig, for example. Plus some of our UFAs have to perform well this year or they just aren't going to get resigned. I think FWP fits into that category, it's a make-or-break year for him, especially if Mendenhall shows progress.

Great news!!! Big Ryan Clark fan and i'm glad we are working on getting him extended. I mean how can you not love the guy?
