Harrison and the whitehouse: Slow media day

Postby DirtDawson » Wed May 20, 2009 4:39 pm

It's incredbily stupid as to why they're making such a big deal out of this.

Players skip out on the visit ALL THE TIME. EVERY YEAR there are players who skip out for personal reasons.

I love what Harrison said to the reporter on ESPN.

James: "Why you making a big deal out of it now? I didn't go last time it wasn't a big deal"

Reporter: "Yes it was a big deal last time"

James: "No it wasn't, you weren't interviewing me last time"

Reporter: "...."

James: "I didn't go last time, and i'm not going again, so now all of a sudden i'm a devil worshipper."

I applaud Harrison for having the sack to not go.

He's probably not going because he views numbnuts Obama for what Obama really is -- a fraud.

Way to get on your soap box, huh? Lets not get into this political garbage.

James has already said it isn't political.

Its all photo op bullshiit anyway. I applaud the man. The last time I checked nobody trust the government !! Maybe he's an illuminati conspiracy theorist in his spare time and he doesnt want to share company with the most evil regime on the planet.

From Shooter. Don't like the President. Didn't much care for the one before this either.

Personally, I don't understand his reasons for not going. The Rooney family has stood up for Harrison during hard times (domestic altercation with girlfriend), and just rewarded him with a rather generous contract considering his age. Most owners distance themselves from players who get into any hot water at all, but the Rooneys stuck up for silverback, to their own detriment in the media. Considering the relationship between Obama and the Rooney family, is it really too much to ask to go to DC for a few hours for a cheesy ceremony. If nothing else but a gesture to an owner who has been there for him, Harrison could have made the trip.
