Here is a good laugh

Postby thesteelhammer » Fri May 08, 2009 6:58 pm

On his Twitter page, agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeted he has expressed interest to the Pittsburgh Steelers that his client, OL Justin Hartwig, would like a contract extension. Hartwig is entering the final year of his contract.

Funny Part is that it is true.

jesus. I can already see Hartwig holding out during training camp, which would be a real dummy thing to do. But the fact that we have no real other option at center puts Hartwig in a stronger bargaining position.

So the Wig's agent thinks he needs a raise after giving up the most sacks in the league for his position? Does not make sense to me.

Justin needs to accomplish two things this coming season.
1. Show he can play better than his performance last season
2. Convince the front office that even though he is advancing in age, he still has what it takes to start.

With out a doubt Pittsburgh upgraded their center position last season, but there is still room for improvement. Hartwig is certainly a serviceable player, but it is hard not to be pulling for a young guy like A.Q. to have every opportunity to do his thing.

Why the hell would they give Hartwhiff an extension? Here's a guy who didn't know who called out the defensive signals after the Eagle debacle!! Shipley just has to have a pulse to replace this buffoon.

How soon we forget the Mahan experiment.

Reaon #1107 why I hate Rosenhaus. I think free agency is a good thing, but I think sports agents would destroy all professional sports leagues if given the chance.

Rosenhaus is one slick dude. He used to do a regular tv show in Miami when I lived there, maybe he still does. If I needed to have someone negotiating for me I would pick him.

Don't forget that it was ownership that created the need for negotiators. They were raking in millions while paying the players relative peanuts.
