No surprise here. Deshea is a third corner primarily at this stage. In these days, everyone needs four corners so we should hope Ratliff or one of the rookies shows promise in our scheme.

We play a lot of cover 2 principles. so I don't see it as a huge concern at this point against most teams. If the front 7 does their job we'll be OK.

Deshea has done an unreal job for us for many years but Gay should get the starting job. He has shown the ability to play and play well at this level and it only seems like the smart thing to do is get the kid more experience

I'm liking William Gay opposite Ike. He seems to have the swagger and mental toughness that it takes to play Cb in this league. So much about playing at a high level comes from a desire to compete. Get this kid some reps, and this 5th round choice should become a reliable contributor.

I think Ike and Gay are the two starting CB's.

Deshea is a great veteran prescense as well. Plus you throw in our FA pick up (Ratliff right) and we should be ok. I am very interested to see what the two Rookies can do but only see them getting time in a dime situation or garbage time. Which is good since they will not need walk in and start.

This should be one of the better positional battles during training camp along with WR.
