Post Super Bowl Complacency

If you look at the roster there are a lot of FA signings. Do you think this is Tomlins way of staving off complacency after winning the SB (i.e. the 06 season) by ensuring competition in camp? or am I reaching just because I am jonesing for football season.?

I hear you brother. I don't know what I'm going to do after hockey season. Absolutely the worst time of the year.
If bringing in the FA's puts a spark under our boys asses then I'm all for it. I think the biggest let down we had after our last Super Bowl win was from our coach. I think Cowher mentally retired after winning the SUper Bowl and the team saw it and followed suit. I don't think Tomlin will let that happen again

i think free agent rookie signings are like the coach in Rudy says about the walk ons...your biggest asset to us is that our starters will pound on you and we don't care whether you get hurt or not. maybe one of so will stick, stillers always seem to find someone but odds aren't good.

i do not expect tomlin to let the team behave the same way post-superbowl as cowher did.
i believe it had a bit to do with cowher near retirement and happy to "have finally won one".
the pressure is off tomlin for having won one so soon, but it seems to me he is very hungry for more.

Cowher had already 'checked out' mentally after '05. Tomlin has really just started to take real ownership of this team, and Ben definitely wants more rings to cement his growing legacy.

This team has the 3rd or 4th easiest schedule in the league. If they can't stomp on the likes of Detroit, KC, Oakland, & the usual suspects (Bungles & Clowns) to at least 10 wins, that w/b a travesty. Even if Ben got hurt wk 1 like Brady, Batch could probably go 10-6. Plus, there are so many UFA's playing for a contract here or elsewhere, the effort should be there.

agreed.
even 10-6 would be a disappointment.
