Do the Steelers still need O-line help?

Postby thesteelhammer » Mon Apr 27, 2009 9:58 pm

Doubt we could get a trade from an AFC North team.
James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports the Cincinnati Bengals have informed OT Levi Jones that they plan to trade or release him, according to his agent

I guess the question is why are they letting him go?

Same reasons they let Willie Anderson go last year?

In a word, YES!!!! Starks & Colon are substandard tackles, Hartwig is an
adequate center, and Kemo needs to be playing RG. Would like to know if Hills,
Capizzi, and Urbik can actually play. The FO should not have given
Starks the franchise tag or tendered Colon higher than the low tender.
Let someone else overpay them and allow them to be exposed on their dime.
So much for protecting a $102M investment.............

Here's our chance to get some o-line help

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Wednesday, May 6, that they have released OT Levi Jones.

I read somewhere that he's had a lot of leg injuries on one side. Probably worth at least an interview and a physical.

First this:
Alex Marvez, of FOXSports.com, reports the Seattle Seahawks is scheduled to meet with unrestricted free-agent OT Levi Jones (Bengals) next week, according to a source.

Then This:
Alex Marvez, of FOXSports.com, reports unrestricted free-agent OT Levi Jones (Bengals) will not meet with Seattle Seahawks next week as previously scheduled. Jones will instead pursue other possible destinations first.

Could he be headed to the Burgh?

I sure hope not. Anything out of Cincinnati is sure to stink and be nothing but trouble. Oh wait, or is that Cleveland? Pffft, doesn't matter. If they're from either of those two crappy teams in Ohio, we don't want 'em.
