The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed undrafted free-agent OT Ramon Foster (Tennessee). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

TSN's pre-draft rag had Foster rated as the 13th OT and projected him as a 5th round pick.

CNNSI has Foster rated as a Guard

BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter awarded all-Conference mention as a junior.

POSITIVES: Big, strong blocker who controls opponents once engaged at the point of attack. Blocks with good lean, stays square, and extends his hands into defenders. Strong in his upper body, steers opponents and their angle of attack, or gets movement as a run blocker. Bends his knees, stays square, and anchors in pass protection. Keeps his head on a swivel, and displays good awareness. Works blocks hard until the whistle blows.

NEGATIVES: Rumbles about the field and ineffective outside a small-area. Struggles to adjust, exploited by nimble defenders, and displays limited footwork.

ANALYSIS: Foster is a large-bodied blocker who's most effective in a phone booth. His size is enticing, yet Foster is a marginal athlete with limited upside.

PROJECTION: Free Agent

Steelers signed Central Washington QB Mike Reilly.

Reilly is a favorite of Football Outsiders' Doug Farrar and ESPN's Ron Jaworski. Farrar believes he might even be the third-best quarterback in this year's class. Reilly posted outstanding numbers in CWU's spread offense and was considered a possible mid-round choice by some teams.

I've watched Reilly since he was in high school. He's got great accuracy, smart, but has mediocre arm strength. I do think he can eventually develop into a solid backup QB. I know it's a stretch for a free agent rookie, but it's an organization that's had pretty good luck with them.
