They thought the remaining OL and CBs were reaches AND they really liked Ziggy. Very solid pick. Ziggy was a mid first round talent.
Getting very close and Gilbert is still available. I really wanted to see 2 DL in our top 3 picks. Gilbert, Ziggy, Timmons, Woody, Harrison..... wow what a force it could be.......
I think Gilbert is value and is a possibility, but what the heck are we going to do about our 2 biggest needs?

there goes Beatty to the giants at 2.28
Is there any value at a need position left in this round for us? Very dissapointing!
CB - DJ Moore from Vandy might be consdered both value & need.

I also like Moore at CB. Could be a great slot CB some day while providing depth next year.

Re: Stillers.com Draft Day Thread
IMO our biggest draft need is DL. If we were to pay no attention to DL this year we could have fucked ourselves.
C'mon Gilbert. Hang in there for 1 more pick!!!

It's gotta be the Duke. I hated him when there was talk of him in the first round, but he is a big physical guy who can come in and compete immediately at RG.

Gilbert is officially available. This reminds me very much of 2007 when Timmons was taken then Wood was still there in rd 2. Gilbert is BPA and he is in a big need area. TAKE HIM!!!!

i always look forward to the draft so much, then after it's over it feels like a completely wasted day.

Re: Stillers.com Draft Day Thread
I could be wrong, but from what I can tell, we got 3.15 and 3.20.
Re: Stillers.com Draft Day Thread
Looks like the Stillers picked up two 3's (#15 in the 3rd, 79 overall and #20 in the third, 84 overall) to go along with their third (#96 overall) in exchange for 2.32 to Denver.

If that's what it is I can live with that.

Re: Stillers.com Draft Day Thread
Not quite as good a trade as we thought.
Steelers receive:
» 2009 third-round pick (No. 79)
» 2009 third-round pick (No. 84 -- originally from Chicago)
Broncos receive:
» 2009 second-round pick (No. 64): TE Richard Quinn
» 2009 fourth-round pick (No. 132)

Re: Stillers.com Draft Day Thread
I'll reserve judgement on that trade to see who we get with those 3rd round picks, verse who we could have gotten.
I don't see it as a great deal right now, but don't mind it either. (especially since I wasn't thrilled about who was left at 2.32)

Not quite as attractive with our 4 going back. Still, probably a good move.
