Respectable well thought out pick, but I just can't see us going anywhere besides OL or CB based on the urgency. I like best available to build a franchise, but right now I think you have to go best available weighted for need. I think Gilbert would fit nicely, but wrong place wrong time at 1.32.

OOPS MY BAD !! I thought DL was a need. He's the second rated 3-4 DE after Tyson Jackson. You want the 5th or 6th rated OT or the 2nd rated 3-4 DE? Hell, he may be gone before we pick.

I have Alex Mack or Sean Smith.

If Alex Mack falls, I can't see the Steelers passing him up.

...nobody. The FO trades down and out of 1.32.

I agree DL is a need. I just think we can survive another year there, whereas CB and OL are rather desperate for talent. I actually think we will move one way or the other. Up for a better player or back and grab one of the nice centers available.

I sort of agree with your sentiments, but your arguement needs work. Would you rather have the #1 punter or the #5 runningback? #2 3-4 DE vs. #6 OT actually is unimportant, in my book. It is about value. Which player grades out better, they are both positions of need and 3-4 DE typically drafts later than OT.

That said, I wouldn't mind taking DE at the pick. The front office has done a great job finding 1st round talent and I will consider their decision well made until they prove otherwise otherwise.
