Anthonyc20 Mock v.3.0 Final version
1.32
Eben Britton, Arizona OT
Height: 6-6. Weight: 309.
Projected 40 Time: 5.05.
Combine 40 Time: 5.15.
Benchx225: 24. Arm: 32 3/4.
Projected Round (2009): 1.
Athletic and flourished in a late move at Arizona to left tackle. Has huge upside, maybe even bigger than some of the "big 4" offensive tackles available in the draft this year. He may not be NFL ready to start at day 1, but Steelers rookies usually don't get that privilege anyway. He has been shooting up draft boards, but either way I think the Steelers should even try to move up to get Britton as he would instantaneously be the most talented tackle on a team that has won 2 super bowls in the last 4 years.
2.32
Duke Robinson, Oklahoma OG
Height: 6-5. Weight: 329.
Projected 40 Time: 5.28.
Combine 40 Time: 5.27.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 20. Arm: 34 3/4.
Projected Round (2009): 2-3
Being aided by an overall dominant offensive line in college and his recent exposure by NFL network's Mayock as a poor pass blocker has caused this first round talent's stock to plummet. If he was available at this point, which is more than likely with the fact that guards aren't as valuable and he has questions surrounding his talent, the Steelers would have to pick this inside force. An immediate upgrade to the interior of the o-line.
3.32
Asher Allen, Georgia CB
Height: 5-9. Weight: 194.
Projected 40 Time: 4.44.
Combine 40 Time: 4.53.
Benchx225: 22. Vertical: .
Projected Round (2009): 3-4.
In addition to being a serviceable return man, Allen is one of the best run defending and strongest corners available. He had 3.5 TFL and seven passes broken up last year and has room to improve as a coverage man. Tough corner fits the Steelers mold.
4.32
Mike Thomas, Arizona WR
Height: 5-8. Weight: 195.
Projected 40 Time: 4.45.
Combine 40 Time: 4.40.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Vertical: 40.5. Broad: 10-6.
Projected Round (2009): 4-5.
The Steelers have bigger needs than WR, especially in the secondary, and both lines, but Mike Thomas is a great fit for the Steelers. Despite his small frame, he is build rock solid at 195 and can flat out run people over. Also, he has excellent hands, and is the all time PAC10 reception leader. In addition, he had 2 punt return for touchdowns last year and is probably the best blocking receiver to be had in this years draft. All this amounts to a great replacement for Nate Washington as the starting slot receiver.
5.32
Roy Miller, Texas DT/3-4 DE
Height: 6-2. Weight: 312.
Projected 40 Time: 5.04.
Combine 40 Time: 4.97.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.93.
Benchx225: 36. Vertical: .
Projected Round (2009): 5-6.
Didn't get to the QB much early in his career but stepped into DE when Orakpo was out this year and got 3.5 sacks (finishing the season with 4.5). Hasn't gotten a chance for a full time rull and coule be a hidden talent in this years draft. The steelers have wasted way too many picks on tweener OLB/DE prospects, and its time we pick one that actually sticks to help depth and talent at the position.
5.33 (comp)
Brannan Southerland, Georgia FB
Height: 6-0. Weight: 242.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Combine 40 Time: 4.70.
Benchx225: 28. Vertical: 38. Broad: 10-0.
Projected Round (2009): 5-6.
A do-it-all fullback that can catch, run in short yard situations, and is the best blocker in this draft, Southerland could immediately start over Davis. Had 25 catches in 06/07 in a vertical pass-style offense, and could split out to TE on occasion to block. Didn't get many touches his senior year, but is still very effective in short-yard situations.
6.32
Brandon Underwood, Cincinnati FS
Height: 6-1. Weight: 198.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Combine 40 Time: 4.54.
Benchx225: . Vertical: .
Projected Round (2009): 6-7.
"Part of a talented secondary and the All-Big East First Team, Brandon Underwood compiled 60 tackles, six passes broken up, 3.5 TFL, three interceptions and a pick-six." - Walter Football. That pretty much sums it up. A talented player who could be a serviceable backup at both safety positions and possibly take over at FS eventually.
7.17 (from TB)
Dominic Douglas, Mississippi State ILB
Height: 6-1. Weight: 235.
Projected 40 Time: 4.73.
Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.
116 tackles in the SEC is good enough to get drafted for me, if only to play special teams. Farrior could be somewhat of a liability at his age so it would be nice to pick up a sure-tackling ILB in case of emergency
7.32
Alex Fletcher, Stanford C/OG
Height: 6-2. Weight: 299.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
Combine 40 Time: 5.37.
Benchx225: 31. Arm: 32 1/8.
Projected Round (2009): 7-FA.
Has played all 3 interior line positions, making him a great versatile late-round oline prospect. Was second team Pac10 after moving to center last season. Very talented and athletic.
Eben Britton, Arizona OT

Re: Anthonyc20 Mock v.3.0 Final version
i was a fan of britton, but have soured on him lately after reading a number of reviews essentially the same as this one:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/f ... ml?eref=T1
Eben Britton/OT/Arizona: Most teams are unsure if he can handle the left tackle spot in the NFL. He was an adequate run blocker in college and would need time transitioning to right tackle. Branded as a first round choice two months ago, Brandon may slide out of the draft's top 45 picks.
As a result, I'm now beginning to think that Mack is our pick at 1.32. I also think there's a possibility we trade up in the second to land another o-lineman (from the same article):
Phil Loadholt/OT/Oklahoma: Loadholt is leaving a strong final impression on NFL decision-makers heading towards the weekend. Scouts love the potential of the 332-pound blocker. There is a real possibility Loadholt could sneak into the late part of the first round.
I would love to see us pick up a RT enabling us to move Colon inside to RG and putting Stapleton back on the bench as a serviceable back-up.

Re: Anthonyc20 Mock v.3.0 Final version
I probably wouldn't put too much stock in relying on a writer who would post something on SI.com calling Eben Britton, "Brandon," but thats me.
Re: Anthonyc20 Mock v.3.0 Final version
Now this is a draft line-up I can follow and am willing to review.
