soldier field???

Postby PSUPERCY » Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:19 am

I am going to the 9/20 game in Chicago. I was told by the Bears fans I am going with NOT to wear my jersey (yeah, right :sufu: ) for safety reasons. I bleed Black and Gold. However, I used to live in Philly for four years and safety was an issue when wearing another teams colors (esp. if they won). I am starting a list. Please feel free to add to it.

University of Phoenix Stadium: ( I went there, 9/29/07. We lost but It was a home game. No drunken Bubbas trying to fight you in front of your kids)

M&T can be a little iffy, but wear those colors.

Lincoln Financial: Wear those colors, but don't be alone.

Ford Field: C'mon

FedEx Field: They love their team, but no batteries are going to hit you in the head for loving yours

Cleveland Stadium: They will hate you. But the Browns suck, so it's an inward hate.

Superdome: I used to live in New Orleans. They can get rowdy. I was kicked off of a bus for wearing my Steeler Jersey when we played them in the 06 season. They also get pissed when you root against any Manning.

Raymond James Stadium upper deck seats can be an all out war with drunk Buc fans, for team that has won but one SB they are obnoxious bunch. Down in the lower seats no problem but always wear your colors.

Pro Player Stadium is rough when the Dolfish get their ass kicked. There is bunch of misplaced New Yorkers there. Every game someone will be screaming Jets, Jets even when the Dolphins are playing someone else. Wear the Black and Gold but watch it in the parking lot after the game, the bastards will try and run you over when they are leaving. :sufu:

i've proudly worn our colors (including a ballcap, because it's been downright frigid some games) to m&t almost every year since it's been open to watch the stillers (and i was at memorial stadium that warm day in '97 when korky ripped off that 74 yarder after we started down 21-0) and never had an issue. not when i sat in the nosebleeds, not when we were in the end zone, not when we were on club level last year for that close win. the ravens fans are fine. so are the dedskins--they're a bunch of pussies. it's the iggles fans i worry about.

When I was about 10-12 years old, I lived in Cleveland area and went to see the Steelers at old Municipal stadium. I wore a Bradsaw #12 jersey and people would throw popcorn....but only from behind.
Unfortunately one of those games was the one where Eric Metcalf returned a few punts for TDs. I remember Darren Perry meekly diving at the ground. I think it would be 1992. That was enraging even at the age of 10.

Titans fans talk a little smack, but gf and I were fine wearing the colors in Nashville this past year. Of couse, if the titans had lost it may have been a different story.
