I know it's too early to conclude anything...
...about draft picks from last year, BUT, there are some indications on which way picks are leaning.
Jake Long T Michigan Miami Dolphins - Safe to say he's a keeper
Chris Long DE Virginia St. Louis Rams - Will be good
Matt Ryan QB Boston College Atlanta Falcons - Obviously good
Darren McFadden RB Arkansas Oakland Raiders - Who knows? Hurt too often, and on the Raiders. Could go either way, but being in Oak. hurts his chances.
Glenn Dorsey DT Louisiana State Kansas City Chiefs - Will probably be good
Vernon Gholston LB Ohio State New York Jets - Predraft warnings of this guy not being as productive as his physical skills are looking true. Too stiff and not productive. Bad pick.
Sedrick Ellis DT USC New Orleans Saints - Didn't set the world on fire, but jury's not out. Could still be a good player.
Derrick Harvey DE Florida Jacksonville Jaguars - Did nothing so far. Didn't make it on the field much, and they traded a ton of picks to move up to get him.
Keith Rivers OLB USC Cincinnati Bengals - Hines ruined his season.
Jerod Mayo ILB Tennessee New England Patriots - Solid pick.
Leodis McKelvin CB Troy Buffalo Bills - Wasn't on the field much but I think he's gonna be a player.
Ryan Clady T Boise State Denver Broncos - Great for a rookie.
Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon Carolina Panthers - Solid
Chris Williams OT Vanderbilt Chicago Bears - I thought he was a reach and wasn't naturally strong enough to excel. I think I was right.
Branden Albert T Virginia Kansas City Chiefs - Wish we had him
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State Arizona Cardinals - Likely to excel
Gosder Cherilus T Boston College Detroit Lions - plodder
Joe Flacco QB Delaware Baltimore Ravens - So far, great pick
Jeff Otah T Pittsburgh Carolina Panthers - Solid
Aqib Talib CB Kansas Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Not bad. Hope of excelling
Sam Baker T USC Atlanta Falcons - Worked out well
Felix Jones RB Arkansas Dallas Cowboys - Had moments. Good player
Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois Pittsburgh Steelers - Total question mark, but still has hope of excelling
Chris Johnson RB East Carolina Tennessee Titans - Home run hit
Mike Jenkins CB South Florida Dallas Cowboys - TBD
Duane Brown T Virginia Tech Houston Texans _ TBD
Antoine Cason CB Arizona San Diego Chargers - TBD
Lawrence Jackson DE USC Seattle Seahawks - TBD
Kentwan Balmer DE North Carolina San Francisco 49ers - Did nothing
Dustin Keller TE Purdue New York Jets - TBD
Kenny Phillips FS Miami (Fla.) New York Giants - Looks like a keeper

Re: I know it's too early to conclude anything...
Not really having our top two picks play last year due to injury (Mendenhall) and inconsistency (Sweed), I'm excited to see how we look this year. With Nate gone we should see a lot more of Limas and with Mendenhall healthy we should see alot more of him toting the rock. It kind of feels like a bonus that we were able to win the Super Bowl without these guys and we'll have another draft class coming in right behind them. Am I wrong to be so opptomistic about the field of quality young players that we will have to start the season with, or will these two kids be a non factor next season?

The sunovabitch fumbles. We haven't forgotten that, even if you have.

I know what you mean. We did win it all without our two top, very promising (coming in) picks. If those guys end up being what they were thought to be coming in (most rookies suck, so too early to conclude anything yet), It will be like a bonus, or icing on the cake. However, if these two remain as non factors, the one ring we got last year could be the last for a while, considering how bad the OL is. Sweed has GOT to stop dropping the rock and Mendy has to GOT to stop fumbling.

Couldn't agree more. Let's hope they get over their rookie nerves and start producing like everyone thought they could.
