Re: Just heard that Jax released Matt Jones
And????????????????
Why is that noteworthy? Should we sign him? Hell no. He's a bum, he can't catch, he doesn't care about football, he's weak, he drops most balls, he is bad for chemistry. Perfect.

Re: Just heard that Jax released Matt Jones
The story is much more relevant than you are.
Many steeler fans, including longstanding members of this site clamoured to draft matt jones when he came out. They would (or may) be interested in the fact that he was released and looks to be a bust....what is not so interesting is that you are a douche

They didn't. Jax drafted Jones several picks ahead of Pgh. So when you say Pgh took Miller "over" Jones you are being inaccurate.

Just a friendly note to posters like steelmoney here who want to hijack threads like this and try to incite others.
I'll edit your post and turn it right back on you (as I did here).
Then, I'll lock the post so you can't edit it.
Then I'll warn you.
Then if you do it again I'll give you a vacation.

Oh how clever and delightfully arbitrary
You prefer lloydrules' nastiness to mine?
For avoidance of doubt - the thread was mine, I did not hijack it.
That tool decided to get personal and I gave it back to him...didn't realize he had his own lapdog mod

Try to stay on topic if you flame.
lloydrules reiterated his point about Matt Jones.
You just pitched a fit in order to incite.

Re: Just heard that Jax released Matt Jones
For the record, Nell doesn't even like me, not to mention him being my "lap dog." I had an opinion on Jones. You turned it into personal attacks. And even when I tried to traverse back to football talk, you remained the flamer.
Here is how this obviously went down. You posted that Jones was cut, without any further explanation as to why this would be of interest. That's is why I asked, "And?"
Jones is a really shitty football player. He is soft. He is aloof. Even if he didn't have the other factors such as doing blow, he's not a good fit, period. His size/speed/hands/leaping ability simply never translated into him being a good football player. That's why taking project in the first round is too risky. Draft guys who were PRODUCTIVE as a FOOTBALL PLAYER and you chances of finding a successful pick are much higher. Work out warriors are not worth the risk, UNLESS they were ALSO productive at their position in college.
With him merely mentioning he got cut, without further detailing why it's relevant, I had to _guess_ as to why he posted it.
Later, he said it was because there was some strong interest at that draft from Pgh to draft Jones. But Jax drafted him some 7 or so spots ahead of Pgh's pick. Now, what _would_ have been relevant, in my opinion, was to mention Jones being cut b/c so many Pgh fans _were_ hot to draft Jones, and the news of him being cut could demonstrate to the fans so rabid for Pgh to draft him, that, as it turns out, it was a good thing that we ended up with Miller instead of Jones. _That_ would have been noteworthy.
However, in this case, the poster was too lazy to even qualify why the cutting of Jones was noteworthy. Had he mentioned, "I guess those fervent for Pgh drafting Jones were wrong about this guy" it would have been appropriate and accurate.
Jones obviously has let his immense athletic skills go wasted with a lazy, laid back, "whatever dude" attitude. And, you can't be "soft" and go very far in this league. It seems to me he is only comfortable running routes where he can't be hit, such as in the endzone on a fade route, and that's it. I've seen 5' 8" CBs rough him up - no exaggeration.

I enjoy reading some of your posts, others are more difficult for me.
But whether or not I like you has no effect on the moderation of the forum.
I agree with your assessment of Matt Jones. He just doesn't have his mind right.

He doesn't have his "mind right" in many ways. As I said, the drugs, etc. are just the icing on the cake, as far as this guy being a crap football player. Jones is just too soft for the NFL. He hates going over the middle, and he drops way too many balls. With his physical skills, he should be a dominant NFL WR, but he isn't, and never will be. His measurables are out of this world, but put the pads on, and he sucks. At one point the Jags told him he just didn't have enough heart into the game, and he told them, "Well, that's just who I am." Who wants _that_ kind of attitude on the team?!?!

Dear LloydRules - I realize that Jax took Jones before the Stillers. My pt is that I am glad they didn't make a move (ala Troy or Tone) to move up to take him since they were so high on him. Picky, picky, bro.

OK, I understand, but anytime you hear "I'm glad they chose not to choose X over Y" it sounds like both players were there at the pick. Moving up is a possibility but usually you don't refer to that as "choosing X over Y" as opposed to ""Glad they didn't move up to take X."
Whatever.
