Steelers sign O-lineman ...
Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed unrestricted free-agent OT Trai Essex to a two-year deal worth nearly $2 million. He received a $500,000 signing bonus.
Ok so it really is a re-signing, but I wanted you all to feel hope for just a second.

The Steelers re-signed reserve OT-OG Trai Essex to a two-year contract on Tuesday.
Essex, 26, has played in 31 regular-season and two postseason games in four seasons for Pittsburgh, logging five starts (one postseason). The Steelers drafted him in the third round of the 2005 draft.
The 6-4, 324-pound Essex played seven regular-season games last season.

I will reserve judgement untill the draft. You will know what the FO plan is after you see who they draft.

I can't complain about this. A 2 year deal for nearly 2 mil. with only a half million guaranteed. So he gets cut in camp and you eat 250,000 each year for the next two. He doesn't get cut in camp and you have a player that knows the system and team, plays more than one position, is only 26 and has playing time under his belt.
Oh and about the Patty O'Lineman I know some on this board think of Essex as Patio Furniture.
