Galloway & Carr both sign elsewhere
Galloway signs a one year deal with the Patriots

And I'm pretty sure I just saw on ESPN that Chris Carr signed with the Ravens.
That's two guys the Steelers had in for visits.
What's plan B?

would liked to sign galloway just to keep him away from the pats...he still has 4.3 speed , teamed with welker and moss sucks for the rest of the leage....
carr would have been a huge signing, we could have had a top 5-10 special teams all around with sepulvida coming back, which would be huge with the best defense in the leage.

I'm glad we did not sign either of these two.

smart move for Galloway.. With Moss and Welker he should get plenty of open looks... Also, with the Patriots sack of shit defense... they will be THROWING plenty trying to catch-up. I look for the Pats to finish 2nd or 3rd in their own division...Their defense sucks silverback, eggplant gorilla balls.

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Baltimore Ravens have reached an agreement in principle with free-agent CB Chris Carr (Titans). Carr agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal, according to a source. He is expected to take a physical and finalize the deal Monday, March 16.

Don't forget...the Pats did sign Springs and Bodden so if either stay healthy their pass defense should be tight.
From what I'm hearing, most many media pundits are suggesting that the Pats would've won the Super Bowl this year had Mr. Terrific not been injured. Also, The Pats are the early favorites to win the 09' SB...sucks.

It doesn't suck. That's the best news of the off season. Let me explain why.
1.) NE loves using the "No one believes in us but us!" Even when it's clearly not true, they use it. If most "experts" are taking NE to win the AFC, all the better.
2.) Pgh always sucks when they are picked to win the AFC or SB. (other than the 70s). And every time the talking heads start agreeing that Pgh is the team to be, they lay an egg. The less media ppl who pick Pgh the better. I said losing to TN would be the best thing to happen to Pgh (b/c everyone would stop saying they were the team to beat) and I was dead on.
And I hardly think NE is primed to be such an awesome force. They still got age on that defense and are starting to look like they have glaring holes. If they land some stellar defenders in the draft, maybe they can put something together. But vs. us last year, their D sucked giant bull balls. (Yea, turnovers were a big part of it.)
Bottom line: We want as many pundits as possible to be singing the praises of the Pats.

Re: Galloway & Carr both sign elsewhere
the pats earned thier media position by winning 3 sb's, if we another in the next 2 yrs we will be the team thats always ranked 1st and the team to beat.
in reality though brady wont be brady for at least a full season, since all the qbs with that injury took 2 seasons to get back to where they were prior( palmer, cullpepper, mcnabb ect,,)the defense is old ,old ,old and was not any good last season. the oline gave up 42 sacks which is about 20-25 more then the previous season(that line was showing chinks in the 18-1 season in the post season do to age) and a lot ofcoaching and front offoce changes makes for a big step back.
the pats mite go 12-4,13-3 but that will be mainly do to the lack of offense and defense in that division for another season. basically the pats will coast till they hit the chargers, stillers or the titans in the post season.

Re: Galloway & Carr both sign elsewhere
Who cares? The Steelers only sign quality players like Max Starks and Willie Colon!!! Any by the way, I'm sick of people comparing the way the Steelers do business to the way the Patriots do business. The Pats are always bringing in players in free agency. I hear they possibly could sign Peppers too.
Re: Galloway & Carr both sign elsewhere
I pray the Steelers NEVER do business like the Belicheatriots!!!!

Re: Galloway & Carr both sign elsewhere
Maybe, but the patriots just re-signed two O-linemen
That looks cheaper than what we just re-signed essex for.
the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots OT Wesley Britt signed a one-year deal worth $535,000, and C Al Johnson signed a one-year deal worth $950,000.
That looks cheaper than what we just re-signed essex for.
