How is OL no a pressing need? It was the worst unit on the team and was the worst OL to win a SB in modern history. Of COURSE it's a pressing need! McShay, I like you, but that statement is retarded.

I think the logic of McShay and other mocks I've seen that have the Steelers selecting a db site the loss of McFadden as their logic to picking a DB. I don't think they hold William Gay and Deshea Townsend in as high esteem as the average steeler fan does.

i was thinking the same thing. what, in his mind, has happened that made our offensive line "no longer a pressing need"? did i miss some signings?

i will be shocked and chagrined if we don't take an OL at 1.32. that being said, i wouldn't shoot the tv if we took smith there either. i could see us taking 3, maybe 4 OL in this year's draft, a d-lineman or 2, a wide-out, and a corner/safety.

considering the oline was starting to play decent football in the post season, i would say they did show potential to be at least a avg nfl oline if kept together. a full training camp together and colon/kemo becoming better do to playing time, i think they will have a pretty good line by mid season.With that said, I they could get an alex mack at 32...

We'll figure out just what the teams opinion of Justin Hartwig is on draft weekend...A guy like Shipley could make since if Justin still has some tread left on his tires. I tend to think Pgh will take a center, but maybe that position doesn't leap frog the BPA draft concept right now. Again, McLovin makes good points about this being a deep draft at the C position.

Could Mack be the BPA? Maybe. There are some holes on defense. Maybe not immediate holes, but the Steelers lack play making depth in the secondary and along the d-line.

Mack might be a better center, but I would take Unger out of Oregon as he can play multiple positions.

Don't forget about Eric Wood who can be had mid-2nd round. Also, Duke Robinson could be had 1.32 (even though I am not a fan of this).

Hypothetically speaking, if a player like Harvin falls to 1.32, do you take BPA or put a square peg in a round hole and go with need. Traditionally, the Steelers try to go with BPA.

If they do, don't be shocked to see them use some extra picks to trade up in the 3rd or even 2nd. There is very little room for 9 rookies on this team.
