2009 Schedule for AFC NORTH

Postby steelcitymetal » Tue Mar 03, 2009 10:46 am

Number of 2008 wins in parenthesis.

PIT
Home: OAK(5), SD(8), TEN(13), GB(6), MIN(10) --- TOTAL(42)
Away: DEN(8), KC(2), MIA(11), CHI(9), DET(0) --- TOTAL(30)

BAL
Home: DEN(8), KC(2), IND(12), CHI(9), DET(0) --- TOTAL(31)
Away: OAK(5), SD(8), NE(11), GB(6), MIN(10) --- TOTAL(40)

CIN
Home: DEN(8), KC(2), HOU(8), CHI(9), DET(0) --- TOTAL(27)
Away: OAK(5), SD(8), NYJ(9), GB(6), MIN(10) --- TOTAL(38)

CLE
Home: OAK(5), SD(8), JAX(5), GB(6), MIN(10) --- TOTAL(34)
Away: DEN(8), KC(2), BUF(7), CHI(9), DET(0) --- TOTAL(26)

So we have the "toughest" home schedule (8.4 average wins per team), but the second easiest away schedule (6 wins per).

I can't find anything to complain about with our schedule. We don't have to go to the frozen tundra, we get the tougher opponents at home, and we don't have to play Indy or New England!

Compared to last year, that is crazy cream puff. But players could be set up for a let down. Hope not. But it's possible.

yeah

as of right now, i don't see any reason why we won't have a first-round bye in the playoffs.

This is a dream schedule in which we should be able to go for the perfect season. Too bad that can not happen with Bruce Ariens to muck it up and make it intresting for Las Vegas gamblers

Yes, the schedule does look more favorable (thank God we don't have to play Indy or the Pats), but let's remember that injuries will and always do have an impact on the team's success. We lose a key player and all of the sudden that schedule isn't so easy. But, injuries aside, this team should be able to repeat it's 12 win season with 1 or 2 extra wins. Mike Tomlin will win his 3rd divsion title in 3 years, something that the great Billy Cowher never did.

Those chuckleheads already have New England playing Dallas in SB XLIV.
