Ron Bartell DB of the Rams re-signs for $28 mil over 4 years with 13 mil guaranteed. Why does this matter? Because it's a price range that McFadden will be looking for as well. Bartell drafted same year same round as McFadden...Bartell more starting experience..BUT no Super Bowl rings.

Read somewhere in my web journeys that AZ made an offer and the Steelers were going to counter offer/match.

This whole thing reminds me of Chris Hope. Rising DB moves on and becomes consistent pro-bowler. I liked watching Mcfadden playing the run strong in the NFL re-broadcast of the Dallas game last night.

Is Mcfad worth Bartell money? don't know but I don't feel the steelers can rely on the townsend and william gay combo. Mcfadden seemed to have much more than William Gay.

Inflation really seemed to hit the NFL hard this year. Seems like a lot of 5-7mill role players.

I read it on some random site not espn...anyway Andre Goodman got 25 mil for 5 yrs...I'm no Andre Goodman expert but surely McFadden better than this guy...I just don't see Steelers paying McFadden that kind of money with negotiations with harrison still on going.

I mostly hate losing him because he just recently started playing good for us...he should give us a discount for taking so long to develop. I think he will be a pretty good player for a while now...just not for the money the steelers are willing to pay...versus the money that is out there...oh well!
