Nate Nate in all likelihood done...
"Tafelski is resigned to the fact that Washington, considered one of the top free agent receivers, will be moving on.
"None," Tafelski said when asked about the status of Washington's negotiations with the Steelers.
"I would have thought they would have reached out. We spoke briefly at the Super Bowl."
If the Steelers don't sign Washington before Friday, he won't be back."

Re: Nate Nate in all likelihood done...
I'm not a fan of Nate Nate "Crisco" Washington.
I'll grant he did contribute in 2008. However, if he is considered a "TOP" wide receiver in this year's free agents, he's gone. The Stillers will not over pay him and some other team (remember Randle El?) will.
Traditionally, with a few exceptions, the players the Stillers let go do not go on to another team and have breakout years. In other words, it would appear to me they rarely regret the players they let go. So, I've quit fretting over who they will / will not sign.
On the other hand, I do wish I could understand the love affair with MaxiPad Starks.

Nate is probably gone.
However, he is a risk for other teams to pick up being the #3 receiver is Pgh does not guarantee he will be a good #2 for someone else. You can say that of guy in Arizona or Indy. Thus Nate is attractive to other teams but may not get a ton of interest.
That said I think someone will bite and make things tough for the Steelers to match the offer.
I say 80% chance he is gone.

It's too bad. I always rooted for Nate b/c he is a super athlete...he's just too inconsistent. The thing with Nate is that he is the devil you know. The devil we don't know, aka Limas Sweed, will presumably be filling in for Nate. Hope he's ready...
