Redskins cut M Washington
ASHBURN, Va. -- Linebacker Marcus Washington was released by the Washington Redskins on Friday, saving the team about $4 million as it positions itself for free agency.
The Redskins' most energetic locker room presence for the past five years, Washington made the Pro Bowl following the 2004 season, his first with the team, but hamstring and ankle injuries eventually took their toll on the 31-year-old star.
Washington missed four games in 2007, six in 2008 and often played hurt. He had no sacks last season for the first time in his nine-year NFL career.
Remind me again--who did we sign at LB when Washington spurned us for Snyder's big bux?

Stillers didn't sign anyone to play OLb that season. If I remember correctly they promoted Clark Haggans. As disappointing as it was back then to be snaked by Snyder, things worked out for the best.
