Fitz ate Ike's lunch

Postby GodfatherofSoul » Mon Feb 02, 2009 4:17 pm

He got taken to school in that second half. I wonder if there was some sort of adjustment to keep him manned up? And, he should have listened to the scouting on Fitz; if it's a jump ball go for the strip and don't try to outjump him for it.

The Cards said they were grateful for the extra-long halftime, because it gave them time to figure out the coverage schemes the Steelers were using on Fitzgerald, and they devised ways to attack it.

Whatever they did, worked for them in the second half.

Yea, the safties went soft on Fitz's 65 yd. TD reception. It seemed like the safties were atl least 20 - 30 yards off the receiver. Ike also turned his back on the 1st Fitz TD. I used every curse word I could think of after that play. If he turns around, he has a good shot of tipping the ball away IMO.

He's a damn good receiver, I just can't seem to fawn over this guy like the rest of America.

I think ike did a decent job on fitz. it was a perfect timing play to a guy with great hands and stregth....ike was on him on that play like glue.

as for his other td catch...both safties bit on the out patterns leaving the middle wideopen...thats one way to beat the cover 2 defense...both sfeties have to bite on the out patters in order for the quick slant to work...having a blitz on that play didnt help much either.

i hate getting a lead in a game...seems as if we get real vanilla in our offense and defense
