Last night Santonio became a STAR..and Ben a LEGEND.
After an auspicious start to the season, Santonio Holmes proved he can make the big plays on the biggest stage. He made game changing plays in all 3 postseason games and finished it off with a magical catch that will be talked about for many years to come.
Steve Young said it best.."I saw you grow 5 sizes tonight Ben"... this was the stuff legends are made of. This was every kids dream playing backyard football...Game winning drive using the 2-minute drill. The Fitzy TD could have been a backbreaker.. but it is at this time that TRUE LEADERS and Champions calm their troops and instill their will upon them. I have to admit, I was unsure Ben could do it. The offense had looked terrible in the 4th quarter and the magnitude of the Fitzgerald dash to the endzone was infinite. But Ben calmly led them down the field...making great decisions and keeping his head under some heavy pressure. Ben did what Ben does best, he improvised, extended the pocket... kept plays going..and made 2 picture perfect throws...Santonio caught the 2nd one.
With Ben at the helm..a stellar defense... Viable receiving options and Mendy coming back to help the running game next year... The future is very bright for the Six-Time Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers! I love saying that!

Jumbo.
I mulled over bringing this up again, but just couldn't resist . Some of us may remember this thread,http://forums.stillers.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1474&hilit=santonio+holmes+is+a+bust. In particular, one post from Steel Holiday, who wrote:
Yeah, yeah. That's what I was talking about holmes'! Or in other words
Naanee-Naanee-Naanee-Naanee Hahaha. Super Bowl Champs!!!
This was a great win for the Steelers. I'm going to enjoy this for awhile and will be looking forward to the draft. It should be fun once again talking about players that most of us have no real knowledge about. I'll be seeing you jokers .

A bust?
The entire offense is inconsistent, and now we are going to pick on someone b/c history says he should be our best player? No.
W/o Holmes we would have had a hell of a time flipping the field on Dallas. Once he caught "that" pass, Dallas' offense was never on our end of the field. That play was as big as any in the game. Or maybe you would like to take your chances with 50/50 Washington on that play?
OBTW, Holmes scored the only Td last weekend. I expect big things from SH in the playoffs. He will be a clutch player once again.

Amen to that, brother!!! Altough I must say I never doubted it for second. Ben is already a legendary QB in my mind and before his career is over he'll be talked about amongst the greatest to ever play the game, maybe even as the first QB to win 5 Super Bowls!!!

Some commentators are calling this the best Super Bowl game ever played.
With three of the most fantastic plays in SB history (Harrison and Holmes with two of them, Fitz the other).
What a tilt!

Those are great individual plays! Ben had arguably the greatest drive in SB history. Consider that he brought the team from behind and nailed a pass that had to be in the one spot, the only spot that it could be. Ben hit what would be the equivalent of a walk off home run on the biggest stage of them all.
