Tomlin critical of OL
A lot has been posted about the alleged improvement of the Steelers OL. McLovin strongly disputes that claim after the line played the AFC title like a preseason opener in Mexico after a night of tequilla shooters in Tijuana. When asked yesterday how the line had come along after losing Faneca and entering camp as the questionable area of the team Tomlin replied,"As far as I"m concerned that's still the question as we sit here today." Tomlin clearly trying to use the criticism to motivate the OL added, "Theyve been highly criticized and I've appreciated that. It's helped me do my job. Please continue to do that. We'll squeeze one more performance out of them. Hopefully, its a winning one." Hartwig correctly defended the OL blaming youth and needing time for the unit to gel etc. While McLovin acknowledges a line needs time to gel, it's the mental errors from the title game that are so troubling. Every lineman except Maxipad committed a penalty and yet Starks may have played the worst getting schooled by Suggs who was playing with bad shoulder injury. If they play that bad in the title game...what fate awaits us in the biggest game of them all??? Oh ya and....

Re: Tomlin critical of OL
That's how you call out personel! Granted, they were playing one of the very best defenses in the league in the title game, but they need constant focus and attention for the entire game.
For some reason, the Cardinal pass rush nor their rushing defense does not concern me as much as the Ratbirds did. Their defense came on very strong in these playoffs, but we'll see.

Re: Tomlin critical of OL
Agreed Cards not the same defense as Ratbirds but cards have some talent in the front 7 namely Darnell Dockett and Karlos Dansby. Tomlin called the OL out in similar fashion before the San Diego game. McLovin can only assume that Tomlin as pissed as McLovin by their shit performance against said Ratbirds. Give the Steelers young coach credit he knows how to push buttons.
